Christmas Card Camp

I went to a card camp last night and had a great time. We made 12 cards and had dinner served to us. I decided on the Christmas card I am amking this year, but I'm not going to tell you which one I decided until after I mail them out. We usually do only one or two styles and make them assembly style with DD and DS helping. I am not a great cardmaker, but do like to go to the parties for a mini scrappin fix when I don't have the time to scrap.

The scans are in my webshots in the cards album.

The penguin holding the flower card is just adorable. Ok, ok, so are the others(!), but the penguin is just my favorite. Excellent job! Kathy

What did this one say on the inside? (the one with the eyes?) Kathy

It was a Su stamp "wishing you many magical moments this holiday season"

The classes are the only way I ever get any cards done. Our group meets once a month on a Tuesday evening. I don't have to even buy each time, they don't mind, and I get to make two or three cards. Sandy

I know what you mean. Some of them were so easy to put together and looked great. I was really suprised to find that for several of the cards I already have the supplies I need to use at home. Sandy

One of the girls said when she got home she was going to add antlers above the eyes. Sandy

I love your cards. The one with the eyes is so cute. I like the snowman with the glitter on the tape too. Great idea.

They're all great, Sandy. Some really great ideas there, too! The reindeer eyes is just too cute. I had to read the description twice before I understood. No coffee yet....I should have known better. LOL

The reindeer eyes idea is very creative! I love making things like this :)

Another favourite of mine is the card to the left of the cute penguin with "make merry" written on the little tag. Is that tag pre-made or did you write/stamp the letters and design?

I must go to a card-making class one day, looks like a lot of fun!

It is actually a stampin up stamp. We used the stampin up stamp that we colored with their markers and stamped. Then we used their tag punch to punch it out. Trimmed around the edges to make it a little smaller and mounted it onto another tag punched with the same punch. I thought it looked really neat when it was stamped. I'd never colored with markers on stamps, but it sure did make it look great with all of the different colors on it. Sandy

Sandy,

Thanks for the inspiration. I was just telling Larry that you wrote that you feel you aren't a good card maker. I told him how great your cards are and that I'm scraplifting the pinecone card, snowman card, and oh heck all of them as they are great.

As he was eating dry rice crispies (he's not a milk fan) he gave me this weird smile. Through the snap crackle and pop he said "sounds familiar"

Thanks for the inspiration off to find the card stock, glue stick, and stamps.
