Creative Memories

Hi all. I was just wondering if any of you use Creative Memories items in your day to day scrapping. Just curious. Tell me what you think of them... If so, which is your favorite tool to use?

I really only use the tools. I love the circle cutter and other shape templates. The blades and templates are very easy to use. They also have some great punches. Their corner rounder punch is one of the best ones I've ever used. I don't know much about the albums or anything else. Hope this helps you some..

I use their cutting system all the time, I love it! (I have the old one-don't think I'd like the new one as much).

I sometimes still use the corner rounder as well, and I still have a lot of their paper and stickers left from my short stint as a consultant.

I have their albums. I just love them. I also really like their adhesives. The photo splits and the tape runners are things I use all the time. I ordered photo splits off of ebay last month as I had completely run out. They last a long time. The 2 boxes were from my original CM order when I first started a couple years ago. I had bought 2 tape runners and 2 photo splits. I must have used each one equally, because within 2 months all of them ran out. :)

Hi Ang,

I no longer buy albums or adhesives from anyone but CM. They're the best (I've been scrapbooking for 22 years).

I love the albums, they're easy to use and I have great confidence in the product.

CM adhesives are the only ones that I've used that actually have withstood the test of time. Meaning that I've had trouble with practically every other popular brand losing it's stickitude after 5 or so years. (Sometimes, much much sooner!)

I love the tools too. They last forever (practically). Also, they really speed up the process once you've mastered them (which is a quick curve too).

So, I say buy them! They're great.

Yes, I use other products A LOT. My only real complaint with CM is that they do not have enough variety for my style.

Yes, some of it seems costly and you can find copycats in the scrapbook stores. The corner rounder is a great example. You can buy copycats for less at a LSS (I say copycat because CM was the first). these copycats do not hold up for as many uses/years.

Consider your investment when buying tools. For most you'll want longevity, if it's something you don't think you'll use more than a couple times then going cheap is better. The CM cutting system is well worth the money. I use it all the time.

No I'm not a consultant. Yes i am a huge fan.

Also, they've got the best scrapbooking magazine out there (in my opinion). I look all the time at the magazines but there's is the only one I ever felt compelled to subscribe to and I read it from cover to cover; it's terrific!

Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the info. I do have some CM items. I have the big roller cart, cutting systems with the mat and a few of the punches. I love all of the items that I have. I do agree that a lot of their tools are expensive. $130.00 for the rolling cart... wow, but I managed it. I just hope we can get our storage bill caught up before they auction all of our things off. The only two products that I have from my unfortunate days as a CM rep is the pen holder doohicky and the corner rounder.

Their stylistic way of scrapping is too simple for me and my upline always discouraged me from being "too creative."

No way!!!!! I didn't think that was possible... tell you how creative to be??? That doesn't make sense. However, I like a lot of their things. If someone shops strictly from one source of course would limit ones creative ability. I say, to heck with it... mix it up. Do what is creative for you and don't let the rest bother you. I do love the corner rounders. It just makes pictures so "clean" looking to me. I like using them inmy work. Oh... BTW... did you remind your upline that the company is CREATIVE Memories.... hello!!!!!! lol Ang.

Ang, I am like Kate. Up till about two years ago, I have not been to a crop. I used to go with my niece all the time. The upline matter of factly at the last one I was at told me that she expected all her "users" to use their stuff exclusively. I was pretty mad as they had a awful selection of paper and embellishments (at the time all I wanted or NEEDED was paper - LOL!) Anyhow I have not been back and Mariann has begged me. NOT!!!

Their corner rounder is th best one I have used and their cutting tools are easy to use and are durable. Mariann has them, I did not want my own. Even their scissors are great.

Linda, I agree that CM isn't the only way to go. It's not the only stuff out there. I use stuff from Michaels, Wal-Mart etc. I'm not exclusive CM. I deinately mix it up a bit. If I think something looks cute, I use it. It's doesn't matter where from. I do like the tools and storage stuff. The crate, cart, cutting systems, punches, things like that. I do however, eventually want to invest in some of the pens and markers and would like more of the cutting system things that I don't have.

Yes, my CM representative always encourage my friend and I not to be too creative. Now to CM credit they are trying to create a simple way for people to get their photos out of boxes and into albums. I admire that, but it's also not my style either. I love to be creative. A jazzy triangle on each corner and a curly Q sticker here and there just isn't going to inspire me.

Dave....I have the three little cutters in a box unused. I bought them on eBay then changed my mind about their cutting system. They always seems to go way over their value on eBay and I didn't wan't to try and get roped in by a CM consultant...LOL Next time I am sending you something will I include them? LMK

Take care, Marilyn

I'm with the rest of you. My dear friend Kathy introduced me to CM a few years agoa and I really wanted to support her. I bought just about everything CM had to offer. I still use their corner rounder and one of my favorite tools is the one for picking the stickers back u, not sure what it's called, but I eem to need a new one. Anyhow, I saw a scrapbook store, walked in and that was it. I was really hooked and still am. This is probably the hobby that has kept me the most focused because it is so versatile and always evolving.

I use the corner rounder, cutting system with the circles and ovals, the multi purpose tool (to pick up stickers), and the little circle maker/punch (it fits perfect in bottle caps). These are staples to me and go to every crop. I don't use their stickers or paper, but have several of their albums. Sandy

I started out using CM stuff, I have one album which I've not finished as I prefer the top loader albums nowadays. I LOVE my CM corner rounder and cutting system, ovals, flower and new addition the gemstones patterns. (Note to self to try and locate new blades)!
