Cricut Questions

Ok so I have had mine for a couple of weeks and love it. For those who have had theirs longer, how long does the cutting mat and blade last? I'm on my second mat and the blade seems to be getting dull already.

i have had my cricut since christmas. i'm still on the original mat and blade. you can rejuvinate the sticiness of the mat, if that's why your on your second. as for your blade, are your changing all three settings for different types of paper?? i did read on the website that some of the blades that came in the machine didn't get sharpened all the way. you might call them, they are sending replacement blades out.

I've had mine since Christmas, but haven't used it as much. I'm still learning the settings for the different papers. I think that is the key to keeping the blade sharp. My pad is still very sticky, but it's only been used a few times now. A friend of mine got me the tools for the cricut, and they helped tremedously getting the items off the cutting pad. I'll keep and eye out on mine to see if it starts to dull any.

Thanks for the info Anji, I'll contact them about the blade. I thought it should have lasted longer than two weeks. I have been cutting cardstock so I haven't changed the blade settings. What did you do to make the mat sticky again?

Thanks Amanda. I got the tools too. I haven't figured out how to use all of them yet. I like the bone folder and the little scraper thing it is great at getting all the little leftover pieces off the mat.

Krylon spray-adhesive. use masking or painters tape and mask off all the edges of the mat that you don't want sticky. then lightly spray it with the krylon.
