Curious about NSSSF Round & SS too

I'm really curious. I've seen so few messages this round that I've got to wonder. Are Cec and Klara the only two participating? If so that has got to be the lowest number participating ever! If not, we really do want to see more posts, or perhaps there is something terribly wrong with my server, it wouldn't be the first time I don't get posts! I guess our next round will come after Christmas since it's almost time to get our Secret Santa going! SS usually starts pre-Thanksgiving. Is that right, Tammy and Sandy? I can't wait to see who I get for SS!!!

There 4 participants the last round. By far the lowest number we have ever had. I realized on Thursday a new round of NSSSF should have started in OCT! I need to start marking these things on my calendar. Geesh.

Sorry... This new google groups posting is driving me nuto! I hit enter to move to the next line and it posted instead. Grrrr.

Anyway, what I was going to ask/poll everyone:

1)Who wants the next NSSSF round to go from Oct to Dec? 2)Who wants the next round to go from Nov to Jan?

With the holidays and the SS coming up the NSSSF participation usually drops ... which it can't drop to much because we only had four participate last time.

Ladies and gentlemen, please let me know your thoughts if you plan on participating in the next NSSSF round. For rules for the swap please consult our website

If I had to pick between SS and NSSSF through the holidays, I would pick SS...just because it's so fun trying to figure out who's your SS. LOL I wound up passing on this round of NSSSF due to schedule at the time, but looking back, it's good I did pass. I was sick for about a month, toss in the ER visit...it would have been pretty tough to put together a NSSSF package. I will certainly be ready for it in January though! NSSSF is lots of fun. I've had the wonderful opportunity to get to know a few RCSers strictly because of NSSSF.

I'm confused about the difference between SS and NSSSF swap. I would be interested in doing one (The 24 will be my 3 month anniversary WOOHOO, Started posting July 24) if I get this job I'm interviewing for on Monday (Keep on praying for me). Don't know how much cash I could dedicate to it right away, but would love to do a little something. Please let me know. Ang.

I have a suggestion about the NSSSF. Why don't ya'll suspend the NSSSF from October thru December because of thE SS. Then pick it back up in January. That way the people in the SS group will have a little bit more time in deciding how they want to do their SS. I know I don't post here often enough to be considered a regular, but I do read the group everyday. HTH

SS is Secret Santa and is for the holidays. NSSSF is Not So Secret Scrapbooking Friend, and is 3 months at a time. For SS, you send a gift for Christmas, but can also send little things before then. NSSSF, you send a package each month of the 3 month period. Hope that clarifys it!

Well Pammy said just what I was going to. In all my years here I've never done a nsssf swap. Things are so hectic around the holidays I would also suggest putting it on hold until the first of the year.

Katrina in KS do read the group everyday.

Dave already called me about the SS. I have waited until after DD's wedding (which was today and I've got my feet propped up and a drink in my hand to wind down from the last two crazy weeks of last minute 'to do lists.' Santa will be looking over your shoulders in a couple of days..... Santa Sandy

Amanda and I were NSSSF this last round. I still have to send out her box..it is Late..(darn it) but I have been really under the weather and busy with trying to work, get daily IV treatments and deal with school and football. I hope my load lightens soon. I am getting better..I just need some money to get her box sent, as my check was super short from missing days due to my illness.

Tammy,I vote for holding off the NSSSF until January!

Looking forward to the SS round!

I agree with some of the other posters above. It might be a good idea to suspend the NSSSF till after the holidays. With all the shopping and gifts for family, it might be hard to get all of it done. I know things can get pretty crazy around here during Christmas. I have really enjoyed the NSSSF round...Linda's been an awesome NSSSF!!

I agree with everyone about waiting till January till the next round! We might even want for the round to start after the 15th so everyone can get a first paycheck!

Tammy. I want to partake, however would rather it be in January because of SS. I HAVE TO Partake in that venture - LOL!!

NSSSF is truly a rewarding endeavor, but I feel many pour more into it than they can afford, possibly pressured by the utmost blessings and graciousness of many in here. So because of that many are afraid of being cheap and thus afraid to participate. Does that make sense?

What I may suggest is that in the future, the requirement of acknowledging still be in group, but not necessarily the list of goodies that they got. I know some that are tight budgeted and myself even a handmade card acknowledging a NEW and TRUE friendship would be MUCH appreciated over a bunch of stuff that I might not be able to duplicate. Again does this make sense.

Anyhow hope this helps Tammy and I hate to hear that this special "Program" does not go by the wayside.
