first thoughts on Scrapbookpictures.com

I've been uploading pictures to Shutterfly like mad, trying to beat their free shipping offer, which ends on the 7th. Plus I had a photobook to do, and they are 20% off also through the 7th. I thought, hey, what the heck, I'll do an order from scrapbookpictures.com of some of the same photos, then I can compare the two and decide which I like better. Maybe even try out some of their unique finishes . . .

Well, I must say the first snag is uploading to Scrapbookpictures is TRYING MY PATIENCE! I think I've managed to get 10 pictures up there and I've been working on it since 7. In the meantime, I've uploaded, corrected and finalized my second order to Shutterfly.

So for the first glance, here's what I have

Shutterfly Ease of uploading 10

Scrapbookpictures Ease of uploading 1

Their tool works okay, but the upload speed is snails pace.

If you've used this service before (and I think someone here had?) is it always this slow?

More to come when I get the pictures back. That is if they ever get uploaded to scrapbookpictures.com in the first place. Kathy

Hi Kathy, I just went to the site thinking I might get some pictures developed through there. Is there a special code that is needed to get the free shipping. I didn't see where it said anything about free shipping. I see the 20% off though. Thanks.

Agreed! I have always disliked their upload feature and have always found it to be slow. I only use Scrapbook Pictures for special sized photos. I would never use them for all photos because of the slowness of the upload.

I do like their quality and the fact I can get whatever size photo I want.

WHEW! Ever have one of those days when you think its just you?? If these pictures come out, I'll probably upload a few of our Rainier pics to print out in 12 x 12 size. I've been putting off doing that book, because we have almost 400 pics. But I think a few bigs ones and maybe lots of little ones will help me finish it. That way, I only need to upload a few pictures, and not the . . . well come to think of it, I was only trying to upload 25 files last night. But the were large sized. (averaging 1.5 MB).

Have you tried some of the effects? I ordered some of the prints on metallic paper, just to see what they would look like. DH prints some of his large (20 x 30) prints on that type of paper and the come out great. I'd also like to try some of the borders and such they have. I think it could be really cool. Kathy

Thanks. I don't think I will have too much trouble going over 25.00. I haven't developed our vacation pictures yet from February. I'll just have to remember to do it this afternoon when I get home.

It is definitely not you!! I remeber I tried to upload about 10 photos. I would just leave my computer running and come check on it periodicaly.

The only thing I have tried other than the special print sizes are the borders. I really like how the borders came out.

I actually scapped a couple of photos and uploaded the layout to my webshots account a while back....

Definitely let me know how things turn out if you use any of the other features on the site. Hugs, Tammy

Is shutterfly normally slow also. I'm trying to upload 350 pictures and it's says its going to take 2 hours. Wow. That's long.
