Has anyone used a Silent Setter for eyelets?

I swore off using eyelets because they were such a PITA to try and get fastened to the paper and brads are so much easier to use... I'm tempted, but my wrists aren't very strong though so I'm not sure. How do you set your eyelets? Do you have a silent setter, and what do you think of it?

Karen I have a Silent Setter, and I like it very much. I still use the ol' hammer sometimes on stubborn eyelets, or if I have thick layers to punch a hole through. The Silent Setter still needs a firm surface to be able to apply the pressure, because you still need to push down and twist at the same time to punch and set the eyelets. I have heard of those who hate it, who have weak hands and /or carpal tunnel. and I have heard of those who love it! HTH Linda PS Creative Express had the Silent Setter for $5.00 this week in their warehouse sale, and it retails for around $19.99.

Honestly I love mine. I still use my hammer setter on occassion but I like the silent setter when working during American Idol.

If you are short like me you need to stand to give it a good push turn otherwise it is a couple of good pushes/turns before the eyelets cooperates.

I love my SS. But you do need to put a bit of presssure on it. I find standing up to do it helps.:>)

I have both a Silent Setter and a hammer. I have to admit, the Silent Setter is wonderful when I'm working and trying not to make too much noise. But the 'ol hammer works great to relieve frustration! LOL
