Silent setter

Hi guys! The other night I was doing a layout and using eyelets. My husband complained of the banging from my scrapbook room and reminded me that my son's room was next to it and he was asleep. (I knew but got wrapped up in the layout that I didn't think.) So, with my 40% off coupon at A.C.Moore, I bought the Silent Setter. Has anyone else purchased this thing? It is awesome! No more banging from me!

I have one and I love it. No more going to the garage to pound my eyelets at night. It would be even harder now that Hubby has sawdust all over the place LOL

YES! I bought it last spring at a scrapping show. I like it very much. Although I have to report, my friend who went with me to the show, didnt like it because when she tried to use the setter, it bothered her carpal tunnel in her hand. BUT I have had it too, and its fine for me! :-) Linda C

I too have CT and I truly believe it has a lot to do with the kind of eyelets you use. Which ones do you find work best? The MM ones seem to be kind of difficult to set.

Well, he built me a punch holder for one :) I still have to take a picture of it and share :) I saw one online on Ebay and he said that he could try to make one :) I love it. I'm able to see my punches at a glance and just grab and punch :) Plus he put up some shelves for me and then made this stair type thing for it. Still working on getting things put on it before I take pictures :)

Also he is working on making his workbench. He just got a table saw a couple weeks ago.

I promise to share once I take them :) It may be awhile but I promise to share :) *smiles* Will do M-C :)

I thought of you twice last week. I mean I think of you a lot but we went to Ellenton on Monday evening with my friend and then on Saturday evening we went to Roaring 20's :) Each time we were down that way I said hello to you even though you are in AR. :)

Thinking of getting one, as I have youngans sleeping in the next room too! I have the fiskars setters with the spring action, and I love them, but they do make a little noise..lol I might invest! Good reviews!

Don't debate any longer! I highly recommend getting one if you are concerned with making lots of noise. It makes me not hesitate using eyelets now!

Does it take alot of hand strength to use it?

Surprisingly no.

I have found you need a little more strength to cut through ribbon and thicker layerspf papers, but is really not that bad, as long as you have a sturdy table to do it on. I do tend to agree that the MM eyelets are a little more difficult to set, but i just drag out the ol' hammer if I need to!
