Hello and thanks (long)

I have introduced myself before but I am wondering if I should have been more formal. I mostly lurk not having time to post but have quickly become addicted to this group. I started scrapping April 2002 and did so for a few weeks. My layouts were okay back then but now I want to redo everything (stuff looks too busy)--I am going to hold off though, call them a learning experience. It is funny how learning about this hobby changes your perspective and makes you want more stuff!! I found an ad a AC Moore for 50% off any regular priced item and had to talk myself out of a Sizzix. I didn't do any scrapping after that until this summer--I am getting more confident in my work and am addicted to hoarding and scrapping! Now to put the stuff I hoard away so I can get to it easily when I scrap. That seems to be a problem with a lot of scrappers! Burnerbabe and TaraJeanne gave me inspiration to get stuff organized (Thanks!!!). Lynne wrote in the challenge. Something I felt compelled to do after reading it on the internet and getting disgusted with myself. This weekend I got some old cabinets and painted them to match a cabinet unit that has been in the family forever. The upper cabinets will be up and away from my toddler who loves running off with my stamps and my 7 year old who wants to make stickers with my new xyron --that I learned about here and bought thanks to watching 5 minutes of QVC. When it comes to scrapbooking supplies I just don't seem to have much willpower. Anyways I am a mom to two awesome boys and married to a wonderful guy who's military. We are currently stationed on the Jersey shore. Washington state is considered home to us. I have an at home daycare and I am a full time student. I hope to get a scanner in the next few months so I can scan in my own pages and share them with you all. When I take pics of them with my camera it just doesnt' come out like the websites. Thanks to all of you for giving me great ideas and advice. This seems like a wonderful group of creative and talented people. Jacqui

Hi Jenn, Thanks for the warm welcome! You are from Camano Island? My DH belonged to a truck club and one of the guys wives was a Stampin Up! consultant. They lived on Camano Island. That was long before I was interested in scrapping. We call Kitsap County home. DH lived and grew up along Dabob bay in Silverdale and I started out in Bremerton and then lived in Poulsbo for many years (by the Hood Canal Bridge). We both went to school at Central Kitsap (where we met). DH's family is mostly in the Longview/Kelso area. We were lucky to be stationed at Fort Lewis near Tacoma for a few years so it didn't really even feel like we were military. There is a die-cutter in the daycare office I work out of and I have access to it. That is my secret to passing on the Sizzix along with really not having the funds to buy it even with the coupon. I haven't used many dies in my scrapping. I got a Fiskar's Shape Cutter kit instead to start. I hope it was worth it.

I'm somewhat familiar with over there. DH is in construction so we're all over the state sometimes. I grew up in Snohomish, and South Kitsap were our rivals in high school football. lol.

Well, I have a rare day to get some scrapping done so I'm off!!

I like mine. It beats the heck out of using glue and tape. Sometimes I still use photo stickers. I am a bit stingy on my cartriges as my LSS's dont carry ones for the 505.
