Hello from a newbie

And keep in mind that unless you're getting the info from a primary source (scan of census record or ship's passenger list, etc), consider it to be a pointer in the direction of where to look first (if you're interested in documenting the info), since you don't know where folks that have posted their info on the web have gotten it from (& how accurate it is).

Online it's OK, but I'm annoyed with the software it insisted on installing on my computer. Haven't had time to play with it more to figure out how to turn off things I don't want (like the stupid popup that comes up several times a day) & the screensaver I'm not using. It tried to replace my desktop, too, but I managed to turn that one off (& put my kitty back where he belonged ).

Looking forward to seeing whatever layouts you decided to post. I need to spend some time looking for family history/genealogy ones to see what other people are doing.

Hi Mel, Another welcome to the group. I, also, am a newcomer, but I love reading the messages, looking at the layouts, and getting info from the scrappers. Best of luck with your geneology scraping. I can't think of a better way to organize the history of your family. I use both kinds of albums, I usually work on whatever hits me on any given day, so a complete album at one time is out of the question. Right now I am jumping from a "granddaughter album" of my 4 grand daughters to give to my son, to a "family reunion album" for myself. Anyway, welcome and good luck. Jan

Hi Mel:>)

Welcome to a great group of guys & gals who love to scrap their adventure called life:>)

Sounds like you'll be busy for along time! I have Hubby's family photos to scrap along with my own a bit over whelming at times, but I just scrap whatever I feel like scrapping at the time:>) Could be my baby pics & my Grandsons' all in the same day!(LOL)

I prefer postbound myself, I find them less hassle to add pages. But JMHO:>)

Again, welcome:>)

Welcome Mel!! I am new as well. I have reading up on this group for awhile now because of my passion for photos and scrapbooks. I too just got a digital camera and it makes all the difference in the world with saving pics. I save them on my computer and then on external hard drive so I have backup incase something happens to my computer. It is AMAZING!!! I also have been doing scrapbooks for years now. My friends make fun of me because of how obsessed I am with my scrapbooks. In college I would spend Saturdays at a local scrapbooker store where I would work on my books. They all laugh but i know that they are really jealous!

Welcome

Yes, Shannon, I was thinking the same thing. Welcome to all of you newbies who are joining us. So happy to have another addict in the crowd. LOL It is always so good to hear about other scrappers experiences and share what we all have learned. We also love learning about YOU and your family.

Welcome to the group Mel. I have just started scrapping heritage photos and am having lots of fun with them. I have a family history that one of my great aunts put together several years ago, so that has been a big help. Can't wait to see your pages.

Please to meet you Mel! I'm looking forward to seeing your LO's. Especially the bird-watching ones will be something new. My brother breads with parrots and have recently won a photograph competition with one of his pictures. I've got no idea how to scrap it. My natural inclination is to do "fun" LO's of my furbabies, but in this case it calls for something more serious, me thinks ;)
