Holiday photo cards

I'm sure many of you do this already being scrapbookers, but I never wanted to throw away the holiday photo cards I get every season so I've just been saving them and putting them in a box. I had three years worth!

My friend does a holiday photo card album and even though I don't know most of the people in her album, it's so fun to go through and watch families grow and change from year to year.

I had an extra 12x12 red album kicking around so I decided to do a greeting card album similar to hers that I'll take out only at the holidays. It's coming out great. I had a bunch of coordinating Christmas papers that I hadn't used in a long time, some bazzill red and green linen paper and planned it out. I kept it very simple and did only background paper and the photos. No embellishments for this album other than my Quikutz Paige numbers for the start of each year. I might go back and use some of my old Creative Memories hoilday stickers that have been collecting dust and space for a few years.

If you want a quick (good way to rack up that page count, lol), satisifying project, and a way to use some of that backstock of holiday papers and stickers, save those photo cards and do a holiday card album!

Very neat idea. I get the same kinds of cards every year. I love getting them. I hadn't figured out what to do with them yet. I don't throw them away. I had thought about putting them in my yearly book. I like your way better that way you can see them grow. Thanks for the idea.

That's a neat ida! I hate to throw out the Christmas cards as they are so pretty. 2003 I scanned the cards inside and out reduced them, printed and put together to resemble the orginal. Then I included them in my Christmas LO. Turned out really cute. I even scanned the pictures that were attached to some of the insides. Everyone who sees it says, "wow!" It's a great way of preserving the lovely cards, yet takes up minimal space.

Hi Jenn, that is realy a great idea. One thought might be, if it is from your grand children you could put pictures to go along with each year they sent you one. Mert.
