How do you read past messages

Nov 06, 2003 3 Replies

My newsgroup is set up so that once i've read the email it dissapears from my inbox. How could I go about searching for a particular post from the past that I'd like to re-read?

go to tools, click on options then go to maintenance and you will find that you have ticked to delete read messages after exiting - just click this off and click apply and it should be ok.

If you are in Outlook Express then right click on the "rec.crafts.scrapbooks" name and click "properties" then the "local File" tab the "reset". It will bring several messages back depending on what you have set to download anywhere from 1-1000 headers at a time. then if you message ain't in there the hit download headers agian and it will bring more from further back.

Hope this helps.

The different servers we all use only carry messages for a certain time and it's all different. If a message is no longer on your local server, you can try

They keep all messages for several years.
