I Need help with packing scrap stuff...???

I agree...I would leave most of the embellishments at home. You can make the layout with the paper and then make notes of what embellishements you want to use. I would take the paper, adhesive, and trimmer, and a sketch pad. Maybe a stamp or two and ink pads, if there's room for it. You can also sketch out some pages if you don't have the opportunity to actually work on the layout.

I would just add to all of the above: if you have a lot of embellishments which you might not remember when planning a page while you are away, then maybe you could take a digital photo of them all to remind yourself what else could go on the pages.

They were all packed in with my suitcase. No problems. I think they did open the suitcase. As long as they are not in the cabin, there is not a security risk.

Personally if I were visiting a foreign country I would not be scraping in my free time unless I was going to some place where it wouldn't be safe to leave the hotel. Is this a place that you go often and have already seen all there is to see?

I agree with a few of the responses. Lay down the foundation while you're gone and finish the embellishments when you get back. Since you're wanting to have matts for photos it will be the perfect time to get that all cut and glued down.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!! The reason I am going to Singapore is for work. We will be at the hotel most evenings with an hour or two of free time. We are planning on sightseeing during the weekend and I will have my camera with me. I am going with one other lady co-worker. Most likely we will not be out and about during the evenings. Plus I am in a time crunch to get this album done...

I'm going to suggest that you also pack sticker alphabets.

At least you can get a title or two done.

Post it notes in various sizes are good so you can block where you are going to put the embellishments on and you can write on them what you want to put there.

You've got to have something to do in the evening besides watch TV (which is what I usually end up doing in hotel rooms while I'm travelling...)

As for what to take, I wouldn't worry about the customs aspect of it - you're taking an album, not a store. They're not going to stop you at the border and say 'no, you can't bring this into the country'... that said, keep it simple! Work out what you need to do the album and take that. When I did my baby books for gifts I collected all the stickers and phrases and bits of decoration that I thought I might need and put them all into a plastic file folder pocket thing (just one of the simple ones with one pocket and a velcro flap). It would be easy to fit that into your luggage or your carryon bag. And take the basics in tools - paper cutter, glue dots or whatever other adhesive you choose to use, scissors and don't forget a set of pens/markers!

I couldn't agree more with the others who suggest taking paper, cardstock, and cutter. You could focus on mats and getting the basic LO together. You can always make notes on embellishments and add them later.
