DH doesn't have 2 weeks of time off available for a family trip to NM, but we did work it out for the kids to go out there for 2 weeks. We met my sis and BIL on Saturday in Abilene (the halfway point) and they took the kids on to NM. It was a very TIRING trip for DH & I, going on 4 or 5 hours of sleep to get us home on Saturday, but I know the kids are safe and having a grand time with Nana & Papa.
By the way, Kenda MADE me buy paper on Thursday. LOL I had to go to Hobby Lobby to pick up some DMC floss for Mom (she can't get it out there) so Kenda and I met. We browsed through the paper stacks, since they were 50% off. She made me buy paper! I was really trying to resist, really I was. (You believing this yet? LOL) But I left Hobby Lobby with Mom's DMC floss, a DCWV glittered All Dressed Up stack, and a Recipe Scrapbook kit. I've been wanting to move my family cookbook that Mom printed off for us kids, over to a recipe scrapbook since there's some stories with some of the recipes. I liked the cooking themed line that Wal Mart was carrying, but I'm not finding it there now. I had never seen a recipe scrapbook kit, and I had a 40% off coupon, so I got it. It's for 8 1/2 x 11, which is what I wanted, has the dividers, and wide 3 ring binder. It came with paper, 6 top loading page protectors, 6 side-loading (divided) page protectors, die cuts,
5 x 7 recipe cards, letter stickers, and an idea booklet. I'm excited about this! I can't wait to get started on it.While in Abilene, DH and I found the scrapbook store. :-) It's the same one cowchipper went to for the crop, and the gal knew who April was. It's a small store, and the selection is small, but she's very friendly and helpful. Even with the small selection, she's got a nice variety of styles of paper and themes. DH stumbled on some paper, pointed it out to me, and said "You need 2 of all of these." What was I to do? I wouldn't want to dissappoint my hubby. LOL This is the paper:
