MommyRazz Update

Greetings all!

I've been lurking for a few months with very few posts because life got crazy around here.

On July 18th, I had gastric bypass surgery and had the subsequent recovery and readjustment to *life* and stuff. The good news is that I have already lost 71.5 pounds but the bad news is that I've been having a vomiting problem that we can't get to the bottom of because...

On Aug 8th, I had my husband served with divorce papers and he moved out. Within a week of that, he *lost* (subjective term) his job and we no longer have insurance or bene's or whatever. There are plenty more details and lots more crap to go along with this particular mess, but in the long run this is the best. The short term is kinda tough, but we'll get through.

In one sense, these are all good things, but on the other hand, having them all bunched together is bad. Imagine dreaming of Eli's cheescake and not even being able to have a bite without throwing up. Sad, but true...

I'm still laughing some, and smiling some, but crying some too. Life happens and we just need to *happen* with it.

So if you don't see me to often, that's why.

Secret Santa is still on the roll for this year...no worries!

Great to hear about your weight loss, too bad about the vomiting....side effects suck! Sorry to hear about your divorce and loss of insurance. Not having insurance is not fun. We have done that for years as hubby worked as a consultant for years (until this month) and had NO benefits. Hang in there Theresa!

HI Teresa,

Hang in there. My father-in-law had his esophegus removed and stomach relocated. Throwing up just means you are eating too much of something.

Hugs, Kate

Hang in there Theresa. That's a lot of changes to be going through, but hang in there. It will all work out for the best in the end.

Not exactly....I am supposed to be able to eat between 3 and 4 ounces, but can barely get 1 ounce down before I start vomiting. The problem is most likely (not sure without a test or 2...) is that when the opening healed, strictures and scar tissue made it heal *too small* so it's fix-able, but there's nothing I can do about it without medical intervention.

my mom just had to have the scopy done to open her back up too... check with your local medicaid office.. this is considered life threatening if and if you push hard enough, they will pay for it... they helped me out when I was going through cancer stuff, you just need the docs to say its life threatening (duh, malnutrition)... so push for it girl...

Theresa, First, congratulations on your weight loss!! What a wonderful thing to be able to do. It is hard to have two such major things going onright now but you will come out of it a better person. Along with your weight loss ,you can add the loss of however many pounds your ex weighs. :-) Know that you are taking care of yourself and it is all a good thing! Looking forward to Secret Santa.

Yeah...I lost 250lbs on Aug 8th....hehehehe Apparently, he's losing a few since I no longer cook for him. If that's the case, does that mean I lost 240 instead?

I'm glad to hear that you're keeping your chin up. You go ahead and cry just don't forget to keep smiling too. Eventually you'll get to feeling better and smiles will come more frequently than the cries.
