Paper -- how much do you buy?

Sep 08, 2005 21 Replies

Hey floozies, When shopping for single-sheet patterned paper, and you don't have a specific LO in mind, how many sheets of a single pattern do you buy?

1, 3, 10 sheets?

Same question for paper you might send to your NSSSF.

Since I don't know for what the paper will be used (e.g. background, mat, etc.), I never know what is enough and what is too much.

Thanks! (off to Michael's)

If I see paper that I just love and have no clue what I'll use it for...YET... I buy 5 sheets. 4 for LO's and 1 to use for matting and embellishing on other LO's.

I usually buy 3 to 5 sheets, depending on how much I love it. I do a lot of layering and like doing 2-page layouts. With extra, I can mat pictures on the adjacent page...and I always like having an extra to swap or RAK somebody else.

When I buy patterned 12x12 paper I usually will buy 2 or 3 sheets. Then I buy 3 sheets each of 12x12 cardstock of two different colors for matting.

I tend to buy 2-3 sheets of a pattern paper I like that I do not know what I am going to use it for.

I usually mat with solid color when using pattern paper for a background so 2 of a pattern is usually enough for me.

I buy at least 2 sheets when I'm buying patterned paper. If I know I'll use it in more than one 2 page layout, or one album, I'll buy 4 sheets or more.

I usually buy 2-4 sheets of each kind, and I get matching cardstock at least two pieces of each color of mat I want to use! If I reeaaallly like a certain paper, I will get 8 sheets!

Usually two of each pattern... unless I'm broke then one of each and I try to stretch it...

I usually buy two of pattern and two of two different cardstock that matches. Sandy

I learnt my lesson about paper - I ALWAYS buy it in pairs. That way if I want to do a double-page spread I don't have to struggle to stretch it out... I usually buy two sheets, or if I really like it or it's very cheap I"ll get four or six sheets. Ditto for cardstock...

I usually by at least 2 of the same paper. If its on clearance then I buy at least 5 sheets.

I usually buy at least two sheets. If I really really love the paper, then I buy 5 or more. Most of my layouts are two pages, so that way I have enough to use on both pages. The leftovers are great for cards and embellishments.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, if I REALLY like it, a LOT.

There are some papers that I adore that I know I will find uses for that I have 20 sheets of it. Most papers that I *like*, 2 or

3.....reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally like, 5. Some paper is just so pretty that even though I don't have a use for it, I'll get a few and figure something out later.

I now buy at least 2 so I can use it as a background for a double LO. Earlier this year when visiting my sister in a different province I only bought 1 for a LO I had in mind. Then decided to do a double Lo and called to get my Mom to bring another home (2 weeks later) 'cause I couldn't find it here. Turns out there were two similar ones and she brought the non-matching one. Learned my lesson. However if my DD's are shopping with me they will often pick some paper for their stash and they usually only want 1 of each pattern.

Amy, I always buy three sheets of any pattern or color. If I know I am going to make mpre that a two page LO, I will buy six sheets.

Brain cells come and brain cells go.... but fat cells go on forever

I usually buy a couple and sometimes just one. I think I have yet to buy more than that of a single pattern.

Dave was here Thursday on his way home. I think he was quite shocked to see how little paper I actually have. Maybe I'm not a floozie? I'm just thrifty.

I always get 2 of anything.. AT LEAST! lol.. you just never know what you might want it for.

I buy two of the print, then immediately find two of a coordinating print, and two of solid cardstock. So, I buy in sixes. Lori Shay

I could really say double ditto to mommyrazz's post!!!

I have beenn known to clear out the WHOLE hole of a pattern that I like
