needing opinion

For christmas I am going to ask for either a wishblade or cricut. I was wondering if you guys can give me pros and cons of both. Also i hear the wishblade doesn't need any additional cartridges. How does that work???

Thanks in advance.

I like the Cricut as it is easier to learn and they have stated they are going to try to make it PC compatible in the future.

I can't help you with either one, but that would be a really cool Christmas present for you! Have you been able to see either one in action? That might help you make your decision.

I don't have much information for you but I do know the wishblade uses a computer instead of a cartridge. Any font or dingbat that you have on the computer the wishblade can cut out. I have heard the more angles the font has the worse the wishblade cuts. The Circut uses cartridges on the other hand. The images the circut can cut are on the cartridges. Each cartridge on sale has been around $70 in my area.

I would be interested to hear more about the Circut switch to be compatable with the computer. I wonder if the current model would be adaptable to the computer or would you have to buy a new model for it to use the computer.

I am still debating if I am going to purchase one in the future. I think I might wait a year to see what the newer models will bring.

From what I've been reading in the Cricut message board when they make it compatible the current machines will be able to be used as there is a USB port on the machine. Currently it is to update the machine, but they are going to try making it PC compatible. HTH.

My son use to have a half dozen blank nintendo cartridges for the gameboy. He would download roms from the net and then load them on the cartridge and then pop them in and play the game. When he got tired of that game he would erase it and load another. The same could be done with the cricut, you would just load font files and pop it in. If the cartridges were available the groups would be filed with font roms in no time at all. I doubt you will see this for awhile though because they want to sell as many of their cartridges as possible.
