Working on baby paper bag scrapbook

It's looking very cute. I'm going to make a couple of the torn bears for it. Got all the pages sewn yesterday and my sewing machine got stuck in the zigzag stitch. I was frustrated by this as I have Roman shades I'm finishing for my bedroom. Couldn't get stuck in the straight stitch could it! I'll probably take it in for a repair, but I've been thinking about updating my machine for a while. I got this machine for Christmas 28 years ago. I haven't gotten a new machine, because they look so complicated. AND some of them cost as much as car. hahaha

Do you know of any good sites that tell you how to work a sewing machine? I bought a Brother CS 6000 and I can't even figure out how to get the thread on the bobbin or what I am suppose to be doing to get it to sew. The book that came with it is not very good, it assumes you already know what you are doing.

Sounds like the album is going great. Sorry to hear about your sewing machine.

I bought a Serger about 14 years ago and the book was very confusing. I just happen to get a flyer from a sewing store that gave lessons for sewing and one class was for Sergers. It was reasonably priced, so I showed up with my unthreaded Serger and the gal jumped in and showed me what to do. Maybe you could find a class.

I'll have pictures of the album soon. Wouldn't believe it.... soccer coached asked if anyone could do some sewing! Darn machine. I'm going to have to get it into the shop. October is not a convenient month for broken sewing machines.

I signed up for classes at JoAnn but 2 days before the classes were to start they called and said they didn't have enough people registered and cancelled the classes. I don't know of any sewing stores around here but I will check with my sister tomorrow to see if there are any down by her house.

WTG Lynne! I know the album is going to be darling. Darn sewing machines, they take vacations at the most inoportune times. I dread the next time I get my Serger out. DS likes to play with the knobs and dials. I haven't had it out in years, so there's no telling what all DS has done to it. He hasn't played with it too much since we moved, but the past 2-3 years...oh yea. LOL I'll probably have to get the book out and restore it to factory settings before I do anything with it! Hopefully you'll get yours fixed soon and be back to sewing in no time!
