OT: Back from Paducah

Had a great time up in Paducah at the quilt show. Interesting to see that several of you have roots there or live nearby. I had been in the Hopkinsville, KY area about 30 years ago, but never to Paducah. Everyone was very friendly at the stores and restaurants. Unfortunately the weather wasn't real cooperative and it rained almost every day on and off.

The friend I was with has gone about 5 times before, so she knew where to go etc. She was pleased to see that the downtown area was looking better - I thought the architecture of the old buildings was neat. We took the trolley downtown to eat a few times and saw bits and pieces of the river and the murals. The rest of the time it was quilt show, shop, quilt show, shop, museum, shop, quilt exhibit, shop. See a pattern there? I did get about 4 different types of buttons for scrapbooking, but the rest is quilting related. One of our friends won an honorable mention for her wall quilt and we met and had dinner with the Best of Show winner since she came with a former guild member who now lives in Wisconsin. It was a great time!

Happy to hear that you had such a great time! Sorry that it rained. I've been to Paducah a lot of times. They have a great Hobby Lobby :) My mom grew up in Kentucky and most of my family lives there or TN. We have a family reunion every June in Murray, KY. Not going to make it this year though. Again I'm glad you had a great time :)

Glad you had a great time, Barb. Isn't shopping what us crafters do best, though? :-)

Welcome back Barb. Glad you had a great time. I lived in Clarksville, TN and Fort Campbell about 10 years ago. Know Hopkinsville well. Only been to Paducah twice.
