Back home from Phoenix.....

Had a lovely trip to Arizona. The only low spot was being unable to meet-up with Patti and Ms Butterfly! Did have a long phone conversation with Ms B. The quilt show in Mesa was great. Wonderful quilts, with lots of variety. As usual, the lighting left something to be desired in several areas, as well as the 1st place winners' gallery! Did a little damage at the vendors. When we arrived, we drove to Tucson, playing tourist in the area in the morning, then doing my own shop-hop in the afternoon. Found a great fabric, then spent the rest of the time looking for others to coordinate with it! Visited the Desert Botanical Gardens, and not only saw all the spring wildflowers and cactus in bloom etc., saw the glass exhibit that is all throughout the gardens a well. After the quilt show we drove to the Grand Canyon, through Sedona. Did a bit of looking at some art galleries in Sedona, as well as doing a bit of damage at the quilt shop there. We managed to arrive in time for dinner at the Grand Canyon. We stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge, again, but this time in the Buckey cabin, right next to the rim. Attended two evening lectures, and went on a fossil walk with a ranger in the morning. I was pleased to see the Hopi dancers this time, as they weren't performing the last time we were there, and I have fond memories of watching them when I was 10! Back to Phoenix and an uneventful flight back to Tampa. Good think I brought a large tote bag and didn't have a carry-on for the flight west, as I filled it for the flight back east! Spent Wed morning doing laundry, then to my quilting group, shopping, then vegged in front of the TV. Thursday was my day to pay bills etc. Then drove some of my quilting group to the Quilt and Sewing Expo at the convention center in downtown Tampa for the afternoon. We stopped for a great dinner, and made it back home by 8:30. Healing thoughts for those who need them, best wishes for any birthdays, anniversaries that I missed. Congrats to Susan for her ribbon win! Happy to hear that Ms. Butterfly's son is making progress, and hope he doesn't need surgery. Took a peek at all the quilt pictures posted - great job everyone. Now I can get back to normal for the next couple of weeks before we pack up for the trip home to Kinston ON!
