Anyone headed to the Phoenix Quilt Show next week? DH and I are flying to Phoenix on March 10, planning to attend on Friday the 13th! Then we're off to the Grand Canyon for a couple of days before flying back to Florida on the 17th. I've been in touch with Miss Butterfly, so we are going to try to meet up - anyone else available?
Darn it! I keep missing quilt shows - I left FL a week before the quilt show in Punta Gorda last month. I miss the Phoenix show by a rather bigger margin though - more like 6 months, as we are due to be there end-Aug/beg-Sept :-) Fingers crossed that

Pati, in Phx (the show is actually in Mesa this year..... quite a drive for me, especially since the past several years the show has been about 6 miles from where I live.
Lizzy, I will check. But that is not a great time of year to be here in the Valley of the Sun. Temps will still be hot, it may be humid with thunderstorms. However, I would love a chance to meet up and perhaps do a bit of quilt shop hopping?? Please let me know if you will have a chance to meet up.

Yes I know that it is not the best time, but Labour Day weekend is when the North American Discworld Convention is being held in Tempe, so that is our "excuse". We are planning to fly in around 26th Aug and spend a bit of time near the Chiricahua Mts staying at Arizona Sky Village. DH also wants to do the AMARG in Tucson as last time we visited it was a weekend and the tours are only on weekdays.
From the previous thread on Tucson we shall have to try and "do" the Desert Museum and/or Sabino canyon. It will depend on just how well we all adapt to the temps.
I'll get in touch nearer the time when I am more certain of what will be going on - plans have to be pretty fluid for us.

I think Butterfly and I are going to try to meet up at 10am Friday morning at the entrance. Going to call on Thursday night to confirm clothing choices to make it easier to find each other. My DH will be there and her DS also. We were thinking of going out for lunch. The more the merrier!
