Dallas Quilt Show

The Big Dallas quilt show is coming up next weekend March 11-13.

I will be there most of the day Friday this year, as DH and I are leaving that Saturday morning for my spring break vacation. We are going to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, and then up to Niagara Falls.

Anyone going to the show Friday and want to meet up?

One of my best friends has 2 quilts entered and I hope one of them places. It's perfect for the theme this year "Celestial Visions". Her name is Liza and if you see a black quilt with a lot of white and silver stars and the quilting done in a dragon, that's her quilt. I've been at her house while she's worked on it and it's just beautiful!

Hi All, I won't be coming to the Dallas show, but I have three quilts there in an invitational exhibit. ( Japanese Manhole Cover quilts). I would love to have a booklet from the show. Is anyone going that would be willing to send me an extra show booklet? I'll pay you for the cost of the booklet and the postage. Please e-mail me privately if you could do this for me. Thanks so much.

Hi, Kris,

I saw your quilts and I took pictures. I liked all of yours, great fabric uses. I'll post more comments later.

Did you see the one with the fuzzy sheep? It is so cute.

Janet, I'm glad that you got to see the japanese manhole cover quilts. They were fun to make. Thanks so much for taking pictures.

Howdy! Me, too, Kris. Got to see these lovely Manhole Covers again. Question: why no beads on Yamugata City?

Note on the show: Best of Show is a fabulous quilt (Janet will remember the name of the quilter and the quilt; I didn't take any pics or notes). Hand-dyed fabric, hand appliquéd, and handquilted---now that's MY kind of winning quilt. ;-D

Notes on meet-ups: there were 8 of us former and current RCTQers at 2 different tables (Susan from the Quilter's Asylum in McKinney was at her booth). We talked and laughed and some of us ate lunch. What a fun time. Now for the note: these meet-ups are sooooo helpful when finalizing the plans for a Stash Raid. (I'm not telling which stash(es) are targeted.)

Cheers! Ragmop/Sandy--who thanks Susan M from Austin for the inspiration to pick up a handful of Kaffe Fasset fq from the Quilt Asylum-- YUM!
