Glendale Quilt Show

I'm going to check the train schedule and take the train down and back. That way I can limit myself to what I drag home ;) I'm game to come down either Saturday or Sunday!

Can we get an rctq gathering together for this???

Ginger in CA I am forgoing training opportunity for work to go to this show. I figure I'll hit the training another time this year!

So where is Glendale in relationship to Sacramento? (Oh my, I need to learn my West Coast geography! I know everything is out here somewhere, but I don't know time-distances.) I'll be on Spring Break then.

Glendale is a LLLOOOOONG way from Sacramento-- about a 2 hour air flight, or a 10 hour drive. Wish we could meet up with you.

It's funny, the big Arizona Guild show is also the 17-18, (preview party the 16) of March, at ASU West, in Glendale (AZ) I need to finish up sleeves for my quilts, and last night decided I didn't like the quilting in a mini that is entered so took it out and need to re-quilt it.

For anyone in the area, I will be there both days in all probability. Let me know if anyone needs transpo or would like to meet up. (Last report was over 400 quilts entered, not sure how many will end up not making it.) There is also a small quilt auction going on during the show, silent auction all show, live auction Sat. afternoon.

OOPS, the dates for the AZ show should be, Thurs. March 15, preview party. Actual show is Fri. and Sat. the 16 and 17. And if I am not mistaken "National Quilt Day" is the 16th.

In keeping with the theme of upcoming quilt shows, ours here (Desert Quilters of Nevada) will be on March 23-25 (Friday through Sunday). It will be held in the Henderson Convention Center and should be awfully nice, if past shows are any indication. Anyone going to be in the area? I should be there for at least parts of all three days, since I was talked into being a board member for the guild this year. LOL!

And there was a mini quilt show today, too! I took about 15 quilts to a local high school home ec class. The students in that are learning about different types of quilting, and the teacher asked me to come and bring some of my quilts as a sort of mini-trunk show. That was fun! I got to see several of the students' in-progress quilts, and the girls (no boys in this class) were doing a great job of matching up the corners of their blocks. :)

Yup, very near L.A. Hopefully we will be able to meet up.
