Glendale [CA] quilt show

Good early morning! I am heading to Burbank to go to the Glendale Quilt Show. Sorry I have not been on the group much in the last two weeks. Life and work both getting in the way of my ng and quilting ;(

Don't know what I will be wearing yet -although they do not allow streakers there, nor baby strollers. But if any of our So Cal gals and guys are there today, and you see a strawberry blond haired person with tattoos on wrists and inner forearm, that'd be me! Poke me gently in the shoulder and introduce yourself!

Have a peace-filled/piece-filled day, Ginger in CA

I just got back a bit ago. The parking lot was full by 10:40AM. A tremendous number of people, lots of strollers and electric carts and wheelchairs, not much room to move around. Got some awesome pictures; the guest teacher is Karen Stone, so there were several of her pieces hanging. Not many art quilts, and I only saw two that were hand- quilted ;(

Saw Pincuchion Boutique and their booth, but was strong in not buying anything. In fact, all I did was look, did not buy anything! I must not be feeling well......

What it was that made you 'not buy anything' must be catchy. I didn't either at Phoenix's Show. The vendor area was far too crowded on a Fri for us to even try. And I really like to buy at least ONE FQ as a souvenir of having been there.

Already have asked my 'student' to put next years' on her schedule.......

I'm pleased you did get to go tho.....and not have work interfere.

Butterfly, Fri is always busier than Sat at the show here in Phx. There are at least 3 buses that come in from Yuma and such. Today (Sat.) the cafeteria wasn't busy at all at 11:30, Fri. it was packed by 11. I did do a bit of buying today. A couple of charm packs, another of the new soft, thimbles, and a mini iron. This is one that looks like a toy iron, but it gets up to 375° in 5 minutes and doesn't have a time limit on it. (Also have one that looks very similar, but has to be unplugged and cooled off after 30 min. on, and it doesn't get as hot.) Also bought a show pin, have been doing that every show since they stopped putting one in with the judging sheets for every one who enters a quilt in the show. (A few years ago, "they" decided to give a specially printed quilt label for every quilt you enter. So you can add that to the existing label and know which show you entered it in.)
