Thank you for the pictures. I especially love the bargello and the lime green quilts.

Hi Debra,

Thanks for sharing. The Aquamarine quilt is my favorite, and I also really liked the Lone Star quilts (I'm always looking for unusual settings).

I think those "shiny spots" on Aquamarine are appliqued circles....fabulous use of value - they do shine against the darker green. She even sewed some light green ones on the white portions, and quilted circles into other empty spaces.

I have a question about the Karen Stone challenge quilt - do you happen to know what the challenge was? Were the curves appliqued on or pieced (!!!!) ?

Looks like it was a great show.

No, it was fabric with a metallic look. I wish I could find some of it. Debra in VA See my quilts at:

Karen Stone's quilt was one of the Pilgrim/Roy Invitational Challenge exhibit quilts. It looked to me like the arcs were pieced. It was so different from the others in that exhibit. The photo doesn't do that one justice. Debra in VA See my quilts at:

You are right about the applique on Aquamarine. I want some of that metallic fabric.

The Karen Stone quilt was part of the Pilgrim/Roy Invitational Challenge exhibit. The arcs were pieced. Her quilt was so different from the others in the exhibit that I had to photograph it, but the photo doesn't do it justice. Debra in VA See my quilts at:

Oh my. Oh wow! I've been learning a new SM and just now got to see some of your quilt show pictures. Debra, I'm in love with Summertime (page 3 of the Blue Ridge ones). (sigh) It's so delightful. I'd love to use a block of that for a preemie quilt. The fishes appliqué is so precious. Thank you for sharing with us, Polly

I wish I had a better picture of that one. It looked incredibly soft and cozy and the photo doesn't really convey that. I voted it best in show. For a little while I was torn between it and the garment Shangri La, but the local maker won me over. It was hand stitched wool applique, and the quilting was hand done too. A real stunner of a quilt.

I'm glad you enjoyed the virtual quilt show! Debra in VA See my quilts at:

Debra, thanks so MUCH for the great slideshow. We drove back to Florida from Boone on Aug 1, and had I know the show was going on right there in Asheville I would have stopped.

What a great show!
