I am going to the Bead and Button show!!

Finally decided that life is not a rehearsal and I can manage to get to the show. It will be a one off but did my travel booking yesterday. Hope to meet some of you. Will just go to Milwaukee and home again.

Jan,

I'm so excited for you and can't wait to meet you in person. Let me know what classes you end up getting and we can make plans to meet for a meal or shop or whatever! My parents live there, so I'll be staying with them but should have a car of my own to use.

Take care, B.

Hi, Jan and Barbara, We should definitely make plans to meet! I was able to sign up for Stephanie Sersich's Spiny, Knotted Bracelet class on Sunday from 9 to 12, which was my first choice. We'll be (my dh is coming along) flying in on Thursday and leaving Monday. Somewhere in there I need/want to fit in a side trip to Chicago to the Art Institute. You can p.m.me when it gets a little closer and we should be able to make plans to meet. I always spend most of my time shopping the show !! I'm looking forward to meeting you both, that's one of the best parts of beading and being online with rcb, meeting online friends in person.

Sure thing. Am pleased you are doing the bracelet, it was on my list, my very long list. Found that some days there were many classes I wanted and I had to eliminate and to be strong about what I wanted.

Cheers, Jan, who harvested lavender yesterday and who is packing to go to Sydney. Five of us are having a reunion to celebrate 40 years since we sailed to the UK together. Much talking.

Patti,

I'm taking that class on Wednesday, lol.

I also signed up for:

Metal Clay Book Pendant with Louise Duhamel Collaged Color Pendant with Lindly Haunani Wavy Mokume Gane Beads with Patricia Kimle (taking that with my Mom on Sunday)

Barbara, WOW!!! What an ambitious class list!! I'm glad you are taking Stephanie's class on Wednesday. Maybe when we meet, you'll wear your bracelet and tell me all about the class. I'm a little nervous about taking it - I'm one of the ones who did not do well with macrame in the

70's - but I've met Stephanie and she's so nice in person, that I'm confident she'll help me. I'm thinking about adding a glass class - the one I want is not filled as yet, so we'll see... How many times have you attended the show? I've been once since it was in Milwaukee and I went one of the years it was in Portland, OR. It's great fun. Patti

Patti,

This is my fourth time attending. The class list may seem ambitious, but it is dramatically scaled back from what I wanted to take and also scaled back from last year by quite a bit. I don't really have access to bead classes, etc. here, and since I stay with my folks and don't have to pay for hotel, I can splurge a bit more on classes.

Barbara, I think it's great that you can take 4 classes. There were a lot of good ones this year, it made it hard to choose. The glass class I wanted to take is still open, I may add it next week. We'll see. There are a lot more glass offerings this year. I'm glad there is so much interest in making your own beads, I'm hoping they will all fill. Some of the lampworking teachers do outstanding work! I'm a little sorry that I won't be there to attend the Meet the Teachers reception, but it's sort of a hassle with changing the reservations and taking additional vacation time. Besides, if I start buying lampwork beads at the reception, ...... Patti

Patti,

I've never attended the reception and haven't missed it. Besides, the number of beads at the receptions pales in comparison to what will be available on the show floor!
