Paducah is coming!

I'm planning on driving over for just the one day to check out the big quilt show. (It's about 4 hrs. drive each way for me.) Is there a meet-up planned? I can make it any day that works for everyone else. Let's get some planning going!

A houseboat?? Oh, Gwen, how cool! I hope you have lots of fun. If you send me some information about the houseboat accommodations, I'd be so grateful. I'm thinking it would be fun next year, or 2010. Thanks.

I don't know how long thislink will remain viable. A Wall Street Journal article about Paducah and quilting! It was written by Meg Cox, a former reporter for The Wall Street Journal, who is the author of the new book "The Quilter's Catalog: A Comprehensive Resource Guide."

I so wish I could go. I went a few years ago, but since I've been in school, I just don't have the time. If it weren't the last month of classes, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I'm really hoping to schedule it in for next spring, though!

The weekend Wall Street Journal has a long, and interesting article about Paducah, with emphasis on the quilting business there.

Howdy!

While in Paducah, ya' gotta' eat! KIRCHHOFF'S BAKERY & DELI is wonderful, excellent, delicious:

It's just a couple of blocks from the convention hotel/quilt show & the quilt museum. There are many, many shops to rummage thru' nearby, around the corner. Don't miss the bakery. ;-)

R/Sandy - gotta' have priorities, right?

I'm behind in reading -- and the link is still good! Thank you!

Someday I'll get to Paducah! My mom is a sewist just not a quilter, and she lives just upriver in Cincinnati. One day after I had just first started to learn to quilt, I told her about the big doin's in Paducah. Her response -- "Oh yeah. I was there once for that." And so calmly stated! I must get my excitement from some other side of the family!
