RCTQ retreat? in Shipshewana Indiana

I am interested. Being a poor person.... what all is included for the $300 single/$150 double? I have a 600+ mile drive each way, so gasoline is a major consideration. Give me an idea what the other expenses would be???

That is just what we pay for 40 plus/minus people going. That covers your sewing space and your hotel room.

Transportation to/from and meals would be additional (but at most retreats... people bring enough snacks to feed on for the entire weekend!)... The place we stay (Farmstead Inn) does have complimentary continental breakfast I believe.

Your S.E.X. would cost extra as well.

Shipshe is about 2 1/2 hours from Chicago Midway -- Soutwest Airlines flies into Midway -- so maybe a few of you could meet there -- chip in together and rent a car... and drive over/back together...

Just a thought. A quick check on orbitz -- you can fly roundtrip from St. Louis, MO ($150-$175 estimate), Pittsburgh, PA (under $150), Baltimore (under $200), LA (under $400).

Fly into Detroit (a NWA hub) and the drive is about 3 hours over to Shipshe....

I wrote a check for $204. That is for 4 nights (double) $20 for the retreat cost and $20 for a dinner.

It could be because there will be more than 40 people there for DJ.

I'm not too good in geography, but Springfield is 120 miles west of me... wouldn't we have to backtrack to get there??? And the way things are gong it's pretty unlikely I'll have quit smoking by then. :-(((

What time of year are you talking about Kate? Sounds very appealing. Maybe not for this year, but perhaps in 2009?? It may be the only way I'll get to the Amish country. The price sounds very reasonable. It would be so fun to have an RCTQ retreat!!

I would love to attend a retreat in Shipshewana! Another group I am in had their retreat there last year and they had a blast. Said the accommodations were great. :-)

I was a smoker for 30 years, dammit. Your smoking won't bother me, although I did see the inn was completely non smoking.

And yes, I forgot you live East of Springfield. So you driving 2 hours in the wrong direction won't do you much good.

I'm down by Joplin, so Springfield is on my way.

I'm guessing I get to Indiana by way of St Louis. I'll know more in April.

We'd probably have to plan for fall at the earliest! This place books up quickly! Lots and lots of groups come back year after year... So we may be planning for 2009!

As for the rebate -- last I heard they would start mailing them out in May.
