A Bit About Our Town

Lansing is an idyllic small town with a circa 1900's Main St. full of charm and with many things to do such as walks (or drive) up to Mt. Hosmer (Thornton House is on the side of Mt. Hosmer) where the Mississippi views stretch for miles and miles. Lansing also has many stone buildings which are remarkable in their design and old-world craftsmanship. If you have time, and weather permitting, another good short walk brings you down to the Mississippi River which is alive with fisherman and pleasureboaters in the summertime!

Lansing is located on the Mississippi River which is part of the vast protected Mississippi Wildlife Refuge where eagles and many other birds are seen on a regular basis as well as birds on their traditional migratory route south for the winter. The thousands of tundra swans seen here heading south during November is truly a remarkable sight you won't soon forget. Our topography is steep hills/mini mountains that reach over 800 feet high. The land is heavily forested and full of wildlife with many trout streams and state protected lands. Our location is also convenient as Lansing has a bridge from the Iowa side to the Wisconsin side which makes getting here from anywhere a breeze!

While we all enjoy quilt retreats....

we do not enjoy receiving advertisements and solicitations for business in this group. Please read the FAQ's before posting to avoid doing your business more harm than good. By posting here... you have inadvertently encouraged people to look elsewhere for their retreat locations.

Well Mabel, I'm really glad you found your own quilt retreat! I can just imagine how difficult it would be to run your business if you didn't know where it was.

FYI....According to your header information you're posting from the same computer connection as the original poster who ran the ad. It would have been so much more honest if you had just apologized rather than pretending to be someone else.

I know I won't be doing business with someone who can't even be honest about something as small as posting an ad where they shouldn't have. Not to mention how rude you were to someone who was just pointing out the rules of this newsgroup!
