OT: Day One

Well last week, DH and I said that Friday 17th March was "THE DAY" when we give up smoking. So, here we are on Day One and I feel fantastic! I know that I can do this, and I'm just thinking of all the scrapping supplies I'll be able to buy now that I'll be saving so much money not buying cigarettes!! Wish us luck, although, I know we're not going to need luck, we're gonna be just fine!! BTW, Em and I are going into a Talent Quest tomorrow morning, with one of our sis-in-laws. We are singing Travelling Soldier (Dixie Chicks). The first prize is $250, so you could wish is luck for that :o) I'll let you know how we go, take care, luv Cec....xxx

Thanks Cathy, this is my fifth day without a smoke now.... I'm really proud of myself, cold turkey and all. DH has patches on, and he is going well too, I'm more proud of him, as it's been a lot tougher on him than it has been on me. luv Cec...xxx

Cec, firstly congrats on winning the talent quest! How cool is that??!!

Then on the smoke quitting - here's wishing you all the best of luck. They say after the first 48 hours of quiting, you can feel your lung capacity improving and after a week, your sense of smell and taste. I know it's not easy - but you guys will do it!

Hey Stranger.... haven't seen you around for a while!! Thank you for your congrats... the Talent Quest was a blast, we had so much fun!!

This is my 11th day that I've been smoke-free, and I am doing great. No cravings, not really even thinking about them. (I guess the Quitline were right when they told me that I'm an habitual smoker, not addicted) DH is having a harder time of it though, he's having lots of cravings and is a little grumpy at times... lol. But, we are still strong. Thanks again, luv Cec....xxx
