OT: First day of school...WOOHOO!

LOL Boy, it's actually been quiet at my house today. Just thought I would share that. I haven't gotten any crafting done today, though. Gotta get laundry done firstest!

Now, isn't that a typical mother statement... LOL. Now finish your laundry so you can play with your stamps!!!

Quiet here too. Kind of sad, my pals have left for school. I've gotten pretty much nothing done today. I may have to make a list to get me in gear. It is easier to get stuff done with the rugrats off at school.

Deb enjoy your "me time". My sister doesn't go back to school until after Labor Day sometime.

Hope you had some fun time Deb :o) I know it is good to get things back on track but after the holidays it is also nice for Mom to take a breather and recharge her batteries too! Laundry is always there again tomorrow LOL

LOL Actually, I'm doing more unpacking and organizing than playing. DD's b-day sleepover is tomorrow night, so I'm getting the den ready for the girls to sleep in.

Hope you've been able to get lots of stuff done Lynne! It is easier, somehow, to get things done without the kiddos here.

They started the 21st, and the last day is June 5. Of course, the students in the school district will miss 5 days of school between now and Thanksgiving. One of those 5 days is for Labor Day. The others are for parent-teacher conferences, teacher records day, & staff development.

My sis & bro both teach in NM, same school district, and their students started Aug 16th. They usually start before mine do, and get out before mine do. But their school district doesn't close down 1 or 2 days out of every month or so for staff things.

LOL Did you get to play?

Yes I did. Still need to do some stuff to get the den ready for the sleepover tomorrow night, get snacks for it, etc. Then there's the party stuff for her party on Saturday. So maybe next week will be Deb time. LOL

There's a couple elementary schools here that are year-round schools, so their summer is shorter. Sometimes I think it's a good idea. My sister teaches 3rd grade, no children at home, except for hubby and the cat. :-) By the end of the summer, she's ready to get back in the classroom!

Well, it's certainly been quieter during the day. LOL Of course, we're still getting into the after-school routine. So the afternoons have been a bit challenging.

I'm looking forward to recharging next week. LOL Gotta get DD's sleepover and party taken care of. It's her first sleepover, and she's been looking forward to it for weeks. Not a big one, just 3 other girls and her. I asked her yesterday what she wanted to do for breakfast on Saturday. She said "Frosted Flakes!" LOL

Laundry never seems to go away in my house.
