OT: Furbaby Death Question

We've all had our precious furbaby die either from a long illness or old age.

My dad is taking our Westie, Oliver's, death really hard. Ollie died last year of cancer and Daddy wasn't in the room with him and my dad feels he let Ollie down.

So for Christmas my sister and I want to get a memorial/grave marker created so my father can put it in Ollie's favorite place in the yard.

I need either links or suggestions. Thanks.

Kate

they have some nice looking things...good place to start anyway. I think I may purchase for my kitty that I had to have put down in April. She would have been 22 last August. Arleen

I don't have any answers for you Kate, but I understand about taking the death of a furbaby hard. I wish your Dad didn't feel he let Ollie down.

Kate, As everyone knows, we lost our cat of 21 years and both my DH and I feel the loss deeply. Our lttle friend, who is 11 years old ,got a large flat rock from the river (Ohio) and painted it with Pee Wee's name and a rainbow and the date of his death. He then brought it over with a pot of mums which we planted by the rock,in our back yard. His dad had sealed it with some kind of varnish to be rain resistant and it is a very touching memorial to our beloved cat.

Wonderfully thoughtful idea Kate :) When my Tammy passed last year, I got a garden ornament that looked like a little birdsnest with a fairy sitting on the edge. It reminded me of her because she was as dainty as a fairy and loved to watch the birdies :) I placed it behind a shrub in the garden and although it's not easily visible, it is the place where she loved to sit and watch all the goings on :)
