I am 40 and a 6 foot blonde homemaker. I am part Scandinavian and part American Indian (blonde hair, blue eyes, but I tan very easily). I have 3 sons, 1 dog, 2 cats and 3 snakes. Our guinea pig and rabbit died last year, but we plan on getting another of each. I also want a llama.

I am a former Marine (finished #1 out of 115 people at USMC Basic Training) and beauty queen. I took gymnastics for 6 years and was generally about a foot taller than the next tallest competitor. I played softball for 15 years, including one year on an all male league. I was voted Most Spirited and Most Beautiful Legs in High School.

I am Lutheran, but grew up Methodist. I went to adult confirmation classes after I got married because I felt it was important that we were all the same religion. I went to

to see what religion I believe most like and it said I should be a Quaker. Guess that means I'm a tiny bit conservative.

I believe in ghosts and think we currently have one living with us.

I have 6 cousins (my husband has 47). One of my cousins is in a wheelchair resulting from a drunk driving accident when I was a senior in high school (he's a year older than me). He was in Slingblade and has Billy Bob's cell phone number.

I am VERY outgoing. I live in Nebraska, but was raised in the south. I still have my accent.

I am addicted to Survivor and hope to be a contestant one day. I sent my application once, but they didn't pick me. I will try again.

I majored in Math.

I am painfully anal-retentive. I gave my dog a cheese cracker out of a small package (Weight Watchers) the other day. DH pointed out that we aren't supposed to feed the dog cheese crackers. I told him that I had a very good reason. He was reminded exactly how weird I am when I explained that there were an odd number of cheese crackers so I HAD to feed it to the dog. I went without a bra one day when I realized I didn't have a clean one that matched any clean panties.

I knew my DH only 2 months and 5 days when we got married. Our first kiss was when the minister said, "You may kiss the bride." Yes, I am serious. What's even more strange is that I was 25 at the time. I dated a professional football player when I was in high school.

I am allergic to many foods including tomatoes, peaches and nutrasweet. I am also allergic to my own tears and perspiration.

I am currently taking Sign Language.

I broke my collar bone when I was 4 (fell down the stairs). I've had my tonsils, adenoids (sp?), appendix, uterus and one ovary removed.

That's about all I can think of.

Here's about me:

I believe there is life after this and that some spirits do exist.

I attended school with someone who killed a 2 police officers and one person that was murder during the school year, but not at school.

I have a fear of standing up and talking in front of people, but will start up conversations with people I don't know.

I want to become a lawyer, have to get over the fear first.

I like real life shows like forensics and archeology, but not reality shows or fake forensic shows.

I can't swim, but love to jump in deep water, as long as I am with some one I trust to rescue me. :-)

I have a fear of heights, but love to fly and look out windows in tall buildings.

I love to take long drives alone, when I have something I need to work out by myself.

I keep a journal for all the things I need to express, but can't tell anyone.

That's about all I can think of.

What a Kool thread Kate!

I am from a very distorted, broken family. I do have a real brother in Ohio last I knew, that I have had NO contact with nor care to do so since 1981. He was born premature, mom died during childbirth. as a result he was always favored over me and as I was made to get HIGH grades in school, he could fail. he could go in ANY store and come out with money or something. i was terrified and refused to go anywhere with him. After I left home at age 17 when i graduated high school, he got into drugs which to this day I have absolutely no tolerance for. the last I heard from him, his wife wrote me a letter aftrer stealing one from me out of adopted parents mailbox. she told me that I need to forgive, quit judging and become "family" again. i wrote back and asked if he still stole, did drugs and lied. I never heard a respose so I guess my questions hit the bone.

From my knowledge, I have the most hair of any males in the family (real one) All males lost their hair in their 20's, where mine is actaully just thinning now. With exception of not knowing anything about my brother, all the males in family have also passed by the time they were

50 from some sort of heart problem. i did have a light attack in 2001, my chorestrol is high now, not because of diet, but hereditary? so that is a concern (fear?) I live with now.

I believe in UFO's. me and bunch of Army buddies at Fort Lewis in mid

70's. well we KNOW we saw something!!!

I love the water, but am terrified of it at the same time. The Army almost drowned me trying to teach me how to swim at Fort Lewis. The ole saying, they throw you in and then you either sink or swim, well I SANK!! i saw myself under the water and was rescutated.

I am absolutely terified of PAIN, even though i live with it thanks to two bad accidents in the Army, on a daily basis. the FIRST time saw a dentist, was FORCED to see one and he told me that I had impacted teeth, I fainted. They had to put me in a surgery clinic and hospital for 4 days to remove them. I abhor them and dispise dr's too. I am terrified of ANYONE touching me literally. That almost includes loved ones.

I too like to dance. I went with a black gal in the Army in mid 80's in Germany. She gave up trying to teach me to dance declaring that i had absoltely no rhytum!! I still LOVE Saturday Night Fever as that is what we worked with!!!

I went to school with Debbie Reynolds, the actress.

The Army was trying to desenstize my allegies with shot injection therapy. I was given the wrong dosage by a specialist even that was from st Loius that I had to be rushed in by my boss in Missouri to hospital, that the ambulance would been too late. In Germany few years later I had a GREAT specialist actuall that convinced me to try again, but i react so often and violently to the shots he told me it was not worth the risk. I do not like needles and getting my own blood taken almost even nauseates me. Seeing others done does not bother me.

I like being around people and am compelled to seek out new friends, but until I am spoken to first am quite shy. I do not like crowds though.

Geesh I know this seems like my lfe history, but is fun!! and hope that I don't scare ya'll too!!

I only have 9 toes. ;-)

I was in a beauty pageant in high school at my mother's insistence (didn't win though).

When I met the man who became my DH, I had 6 dogs, 4 cats, a rabbit, some hamsters, fish, and a snake. I called it my "Home for Wayward Animals" because they kept showing up at my door!

Now I only have 2 cats, feral, from a dairy farm out in the country.

My 4 y/o daughter is the love of my life, after losing several previous pregnancies.

My husband is from India. We've done some world traveling, wish we had the time and $$$$ for more!

My DH and I were almost arrested in the Taj Mahal.

Well, that's about it, I think I'm pretty average. ;-)

Wow lots of cool stuff revealed here, so since I'm learning secrets about you all I should reveal something about me, but I feel I'm pretty average.

I believe in science.

I, too saw UFO's in the 1970's when my family lived in South Carolina.

I believe in ghosts too and feel there is one that follows me. When I was a newlywed it bothered me a lot even touching me like brushing my hair on my forehead. I told it to go away and leave me alone until a day came when I could except something like it, because it was freaking me out! It went away.

I love to cook.

I don't like sticky things on my hands. Therefore my family doesn't get to eat things like meatloaf, meatballs, fried chicken is a pure act of love I do once a year, because I'm highly agitated while making it. A friend just suggested I get some disposable rubber gloves to wear.

I don't like to hold a cup that is wet. I wrap a paper towel around it.

I love to swim, ride bikes, but hate to exercise.

The only fear I can think of is of dogs.... other people's dogs. I remain calm around stray dogs (with deep breathing and self talk) as to not pass my high fear of dogs on to my kids. I think it's working.

I have 2 dogs.

I am a shy person. So, much so that if I have to talk to a strange person about doing something I may never do it. It's getting better as I age. I just remind myself that they can not take my birthday away. :)

I believe in ESP and use it a lot.

I hate goofy comedies. I love science fiction.

I have a degree in Accounting.

I have been to 49 states.

I've never met or went to school with anyone famous.

I've lived in the same community (three block radius) all of my life.

I know this may sound crazy, but after watching Robin Williams in "What Dreams May Come" I no longer have a fear of death.

I was raised Catholic in the same church my great-great grandfather morgaged his farm to help build.

My oldest daughter and I were pregnant at the same time and delivered nineteen days apart - she was first. We both had boys and nursed our babies.

My DH and I are both the second oldest of eight sibling family groups. Though my mother remarried later and had my younger sister, making us nine.

My children have 32 first cousins - exactly 16 from each side of the family.

My DH and I dated for 48 days before getting married, and have been married for 31 years.

I was appointed Pike County Historian by the Indiana State Historical Society in 1991 and have held the position since that year.

I have written a weekly newspaper article for the History Page of the local newspaper since 1998.

My mother graduated from high school in 1953, I graduated in 1973 and my oldest DS graduated in 1993.

I am terrified of spiders and snakes, but love to camp and canoe.

I have a fear of heights, but have climbed to the top of the Tybee Island Lighthouse three different times. Can't show fear to children!

I also have a problem with confinement/small spaces, but have taken girl scout troops wild caving where we had to belly crawl through tunnels, slide down mud hills and wade through waist deep cold water.

My DH and I, and each of our five children have five letters in our first name. (my DD figured this out one year in school when she was learning to use graph paper) It was quite by accident, except for the last one. We hunted for a five letter name so he would match the rest of us.

I sometimes go three or four days without holding a conversation with an adult ( except for DH). I never cound the parents of the children in my daycare - they are usually in a hurry to keep from being late for work in the morning and in a hurry to get home after work at the end of the day. (The newsgroup keeps me sane during these times)

I paint, play with playdough, and build castles out of blocks everyday. I can also play a mean game of candyland on the computer. I have five in diapers/pullups and am currently potty training two. (Do you have any idea how many diapers a day that equals?)

I have to read something everynight to be able to go to sleep.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be in Savannah, Georgia.

Alcoholism runs in my family and I am terrified to take a drink. But I worked in the family owned liquor store for fifteen years. That was after I turned twenty-one. I started taking inventory and cleaning on Sundays when I was 10.

I also saw a UFO in 1973 - and "no" I don't drink.

Don't know lot about computers.

I love to craft. Usually have to try things just to see if I can do it.

I worked 12 years n a wood factory. we made trophy parts.

Five years ago my DD's son was stillborn, That's the worst thing you can imagine.

I'm afrai of the dark.

I believe in ESP. I can think about calling my friend Jan and she will call me first.

I took my first vaction in April to NC to visit DS and family.

My family milked cowes for 10+ years.

During holidays i make candy to sell.

I like planning parties or get togethers.

I am a teachers aide in a school with both mentally challenged and kids that have been in trouble.

I live in the middle of Amish country.

I am a caring person and have a hard time saying no to anything.I would do anything for you if at all possible.

I've lived a pretty sheltered life, compared to many of the folks here. But here goes...

I love science fiction, in all forms, but especially books.

My DH and I have been married 32 years.

He was career Navy. We have lived all over the US, but never outside it.

My oldest daughter was born in Atlanta and graduated high school in Minneapolis. My youngest daughter was born in Minneapolis and graduated high school in Atlanta.

I started scrapbooking when I inherited my mother's photographs, including family photos more than a century old.

I believe in UFOs, though I've never seen one. My daughter is slightly psychic, and can hear the spirits in cemeteries. She is frequently attacked by inanimate objects, which is sometimes funny and sometimes scary.

I've worked in the county jail for the last 9 years.

We have had cats most of our lives, and frequently had snakes as well. Now we're down to four cats.

I love history, literature, and science, and hate math.

I've been an amateur artist since grade school, and still love to draw and paint.

Wow - it's really interesting to find these things out about you all. So - here is my contribution.

I am 32, born and raised in Seattle, WA.

When I was 6, my mom moved to Helena, Montana for 2 years, I lived with her 9 months, my dad the rest of the time (The school was awful). Otherwise, I've never lived outside the Seattle area more than 3 mos.

My dad and I are very close, in part because of that experience. It was also one of the best things that happened to their marriage, their

39th anniversary will be this year.

I had pnemonia when I was in montana, didn't eat for 2 weeks. I confuse it with Mt. St, Helen's blowing, which was also while I was there, we had several inches of ash.

I consider myself an agnostic - anyone's beleifs have validity. I am willing to hear about them all. Personally, I beleive that love, understanding and kindess are the best ways to honor any spirutuality.

I have seen ghosts. I have felt presences. I was at the foot of my grandfather's bed when he died, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I sucked my thumb til I was way too old. I still have my blanky, and when life is rough, I still find it comforting.

My degree is anthropology - and I still love to read about it.

I've taught skiing for 7 years.

I have 2 cats. A princess and a brat, and I adore them both.

I've been very lucky to have had wonderful men in my life - my father, uncle and grandfathers. They have set high standards for me for the men I date.

I want to have a daughter and name her Leora after my grandmother.

I will avidly defend my friends and underdog strangers if I feel they've been wronged.

I am scared, because I don't have a permanent job, and thrilled at the adventure of it. I am considereing starting my own event planning business.

And this is getting to long! Thanks for letting me share my life story, and thanks for being such a great community.

Ok, after much deliberation and reading everything everyone has shared.....here goes.

I'm a Baptist preacher's daughter and now a Baptist preacher's wife.

I've lived in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico (twice), Texas & now in Arkansas.

I really am a desert rat at heart. I like my water below ground where it's nice and safe. :-)

I really do hate wearing shoes, but also can't stand my feet being dirty.

I was in band all through high school and five years of college.

I received the John Phillips Sousa award (band) my senior year of high school.

I met my hubby over the internet and started an online relationship two months later. I met him in person just a few weeks after that. Two weeks after we first met in person, he proposed.

All the rebellion you do as a teenager I got out before I was 5. Which means I was a great teen! I thought Mom & Dad were genius and did everything they said. 0:-)

I'm strong-willed, stubbon, and determined. Therefore, don't tell me I can't do something, because I'll do it just to prove you wrong.

I experience dejavu a lot due to dreams I have and forget about.

I listen to different genres of music, but mostly country and Christian music.

I love scented candles.

I love the smell of desert rain.

I've never been outside the US except for several trips to Juarez, Mexico.

I went on a mission trip when I was just 5 years old.

I love to sing, but get nervous singing solos.

I was a music ed. major in college, but no degree. I do plan on going back to college and majoring in either early childhood development or early childhood education.

I went through depression.

I fear being a failure.

I've never been a morning person, even as a child.

I love reading mysteries.

I like doing geneology, especially with my Mom, and one day want to do a heritage album.

One of my sets of grandparents, three or four generations back, were double cousins.

I think that just about covers it!
