Scrapbook Kit Clubs - Tell us about them!

There have been a couple of posts recently about scrapbook "kit" clubs and I thought it might be interesting to hear more about them. I've considered joining before, but never have. Please try to answer all the questions as it might be fun to include some of that on our website/reference library! I know I'm starting to use the website a lot as a place to find our favorite scrapbook links, knowing that my computer can crash and I'll still be able to find the links everyone has suggested! If you've talked about your scrapbook kit club before, would you please be so kind as to do it again in this thread?

Have you ever belonged to one?

Which one? (please include a link to their website if you can)

Was it worth it (cost wise)?

Did it help you learn new techniques?

What kind of quality were their products?

Did they use Bazzill cardstock? (Most of us are addicted to Bazzill)

Did they include detailed instructions/suggestions on how to put the kits together?

How useful were the instructions?

Did you follow the instructions or did you usually come up with your own designs, or both? (Please be as long winded here as you like, LOL)

Thanks,

Yes!

There are several kit options available. The original option is a selection of 12x12 and 81/2 x 11 paper, goodies that vary from month to month, and coordinating wood-mounted rubber stamps. Since then they have added a "junior" kit that does not include 12x12 paper. The theme is the same as the "senior" kit but the "junior" option has unique 81/2x11 paper and stamps. There is also a double-paper, no stamps no goodies option and a brand-new "stampers" kit.

All of the paper and stamps are unique to Club Scrap. They manufacture/print their own. The themes are pretty broad and not in the usual birthday-Halloween-Christmas groove. Past themes have included Salsa, Evergreen, Moody Blues, Safari and Heritage.

They also have several more traditional theme kits that are available to non-members if you want to give them a try. These include Wedding, Baby and Pets.

The goodies vary by month and usually are cutting-edge new products. The first eyelets I ever saw, for example, were in a Club Scrap kit.

Yes.

Club Scrap products are of the highest quality.

Club Scrap has their paper manufactured and printed to order, so they do not use Bazzill. Club Scrap paper is fabulous!

Layout sketches are included each month and layout samples are printed in full color in the club newsletter.

I love the sketches in particular.

Thanks for posting all this info Crystal. The only time I've tried Club Scrap was when they paired up with DIY Scrapbooking in Sept 2003. All I can say is Dave got a lot of it as it was all beige and brown and nature inspired. The cardstock was good quality.
