My dearest PJ kitty (Princess Jasmine) has been ill....I've had her 12 years, but I want to keep her a few more. She and I have been through a lot together, and she is my first cat as an adult.
I still don't know exactly what is wrong, but apperantly her liver may be damaged. I understand that it may be treatable with work, and a lot of love and money.
You are all so wonderfuil and supportive, all I ask is you send some positive energy our way for a quick recovery!!! Thank you so much,
I'm sorry to hear that your kitty is ill. My cat is very slowly recovering from surgery so I know what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and PJ.
Oh Jessica I hope all turns out well. Prayers are being said. I know it can be costly to get our pets taken care of.
I just got through a little scare with my 15 1/2 year old dog. She decided last week she wouldn't eat dog food. I just spent $1500 last year trying to find out why she was incontent now and then. I kept asking the vet if it could be that she's just an old lady, BUT they insisted on all the tests to rule out a bladder infection. Turned out she's an old lady and needs a diaper at night. Not that I didn't want to take my dog to the vet this time, but I wanted to do what I could before they ran a lot of tests and find out she just had a stomach ache.
Since she has many food allergies I tried to stay within her diet giving her tuna, potato, rice and she just wouldn't eat. Finally, I gave her some left over beef with rice and she chowed it down. She weighed 10 pounds when it started and was down to 8 I was getting scared! Now she insists on being fed at each meal. I have some ground beef and rice precooked and measured in the refridgerator. Found out that she'll eat it straight out of the fridge. Don't even have to warm it up. Beef has not been on her diet, but her skin is still looking good and I'd rather her be itchy than not eat. Thank goodness no itching has started.
Sorry for the long story I just know where you are coming from and I wish your cat all the best. Hang in there.
Thank you guys for your prayers. I feel so helpless, knowing she's feeling bad, and no idea how to help her. I hate not knowing what it is good or bad, I much rather know so I know what plans to make, you know?
So, I just keep trying to make sure she gets food intake, and lots of love.
OH Jessica, my heart and thoughts go out to you!! I know what it is like to have a sick one. I was absolutely horrified last year when my specail one was bad one day when I got home and I had to rush her for emergency surgery.
She is having an ultrasound and liver biopsy today, so hopefully they will find out what's wrong, and hopefully it can be fixed! So - think positive thoughts for an all white cat on Friday the 13th! :)
