OT: Home for a spell, & recuping

Well I know, been here for a couple days now, but work is REALLY BAD at the moment. DT is on one of his power trips and we al stressed out.

Of course after the totally disasterous Denver show, it is no wonder he is being a REALLY big pain. Oh well, as with ANY JOB, there are those days and if you like it, you overlook them and overcome!

About Denver show. It was in the brand new Hyatt downtown across from CO convention center. It was nice but the hose staff was some of the worst, in the way they were helpful and supportive, we have run across. The show promoter was not happy either.

then there was our own happenings. I was first. During dress rehearsal, I was not paying attention and ended up with a splitting headache which lasted for a couple days. Yes, I was almost MORTALLY wounded - LOL! I got hit in the head with a sword and have a nice laceration and LUMP as a result. It was not bad enough for stitches or anything, but it did bleed and upset DT and all a bit. Next rehearsal and show everyone was sorta touchy with the swords. It is expected as it happened before with the last accident we had several years ago with another trick.

Then in the middle of the show during a break, boss was futzing with a large trick, slipped off, fell off it and the stage on top of the tech who was working on fire cage. That was two at once!! He jammed his back which he messed up real bad early in the year and had a big cut on his right shulder area. The tech, Skip had a huge bump on his head and a smashed hand.

The last and final guy with us was already recuperating from knee surgery couple months ago, so still on the mend and was hurting as his was his first show back in almost three months. so during loadout here we were all feeling really bad, not able to do much or WANTING to and we had a half ass helpcrew and DT was so frustrated with us he and the girls left (as usual!)

Sunday when I finally got up and moving, I hurt had a headache and did not get far driving back home. I parked and slept after taking couple Tylenol PMs for 12 hours.

So now anyhow am back at home for a spel right ow. we have several shows in state over next month, and next major one is SLC over Thanksgiving - WOO HOO!!!

Then Christmas I believe I will be in Florida and New years Seattle. Up coming next year we have shows in southern CA, Detroit and get this - Canada!!!

So if I can endure, and survive - LOL!! I have lots more to look forward too!!

((HUGS!!))

Ohhhhhhhhh no!!!!!! I am so sorry to hear about all the mishaps the troupe has been having! Maybe it's because this month has a *Friday the 13th* in it....gotta blame it on something, right? Sounds like an overly exciting round of happenings...those are the times you wish things were dull. ;-)

Glad you are otherwise safe and sound at home now to recover from the trip. Make sure you take time to heal up and rest.

((gentle hugs...don't wanna jar anything))

Definately sounds like a rotten last show there Dave! Glad you're ok though, and home for some much needed rest. At least the next several shows are in state so you'll be closer to home and your own bed. :-)

Well, Dave it sounds like you're living up to your nickname of "Dangerous Dave." I'll have to tell the kids you have a sword wound they'll never believe it. Sure hope you're head is feeling better.
