OT: It's beginning to look a lot like moving

Ok, here's a sign that I've totally lost my mind. Made up this parody last week or so & just had to share it with you all.

*to the tune of "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"*

It's beginning to look a lot like moving Everywhere I look. With plastic tape in my hair And boxes everywhere....

That's where I stopped singing and DH finished it off referring to a "schnook". (Don't ask....just understand it had to do with DH losing his job.) Don't worry about me, the men in the white coats will be coming soon to take me away and I'll feel MUCH better! LOL

BUT.....it looks like we'll be moving back to Little Rock. DH got an offer today from a company down there. He's said yes because they needed an answer today, but I'm not convinced that's where we need to be and neither is he. Keep us in your prayers. I'm not so worried about DH & I as I am about DD, who just started 1st grade this year. We had to move her to another school when DH resigned from the school he WAS working at, because we don't live in that district. So now we'll be moving her again, possibly. DD told me last week that she doesn't want to move, but she was also pouting about other things when she told me that. DS (3 yr old), oh geez....he is SO ready to move! He tells me almost every day that he wants to move to our new house.

So MC & Kenda, I may be back in your neck of the woods again. I love it...we move FROM Little Rock in February and I find RCS. Then MC moves TO Little Rock this summer, and we may be moving back down there. Can someone turn the musical chairs music off now? I'm getting dizzy. :-)

Deb I understand your feelings about moving your daughter to a new school. We moved when our daughter was in the 5th grade and then again when she was a sophomore. The elementary school move was much easier on all of us than the high school one. It will still be hard for her, but I bet she adjusts quickly to the new school and new friends. I will keep you all in my prayers.

But at least the good news is that I have quite a few boxes packed. And now I know I can start packing up the rest of the shtuff here. And the other good news is that we used to live there, so we're familiar with the area. Just have to hit the classifieds now and find a rental....ugh. here we go again....

Deb, Just think of it this way...you are gooing home to see your family (RCS) that is. And you will have some good scrapbooking buddies to inspire you. Good luck!

YEAH!!! More scrappers that we know in the area!!!!! OOOHHHH there is a new scrapbook store in North Little Rock and there's one in Jacksonville, and have you been to the one in Conway? How about Sheridan????? Think there's one in Bryant too! See ya gotta come. And I know you're worried about your little one but I'm sure she'll be okay. I remember how I felt the first few weeks of a new school after moving so many times when my DF was in the AF. But after getting settled down and into a routine I was okay. Have faith, things will work out for you and your family.

I heard you and MC talk about the one in Conway, but never been there. I've driven through Conway several times, does that count? :-) You'll have to introduce me to the scrapbook stores, 'cause the only one I ever went to was the one on Rodney Parham.

I know DD will be ok. DS is excited about being able to see his buddy "Miss Freda" (nursery worker at the church we used to go to in LR). DD's actually excited about being able to see certain friends again, and I know that once we get settled in it'll all be ok. It's the saying goodbye to friends here that's going to be tough I think.

Where in LR did you live before?

When is your DH expected to start work here? Has he had any other nibbles?

Don't worry, we'll take good care of you when you get here!

We lived on the southwest side of town, in some townhouse apartments. Let me put it this way, ummm.....those apartments are out of the question, not one of the best areas of SW LR. LOL So the good news is that this time around we know what parts of LR to stay away from.

DH is expected to start work Oct 11. They asked yesterday when he could start and his answer was "at least 2 weeks, if not more". They're fine if we need to wait longer, just as long as they know. Other than this job, there hasn't really been any other nibbles. He did have 1 interview here in town, but the company never called him back.

The other good news is that we've already gotten a good lead on a house for rent. It's over in the Broadmoor area, and the lady has called back twice after we initially talked to her this morning. She told DH that she thinks we're the family she's been waiting for.

DH goes down to LR this afternoon and he's staying with some friends of ours. He has to be at his future employers tomorrow morning at 8:30 for some kind of training meeting. The plan right now is for him to go look at houses when he's done with the meeting, but it will depend on how long this training meeting goes. If it wasn't for DD needing to be in school, we would probably make it a family trip and the kids and I could scout out houses while DH was in his meeting. But....DD needs to be in school. We're planning for the 4 of us to go down Saturday and look at houses, though. At this point, we may be looking at that one house, but we'll look at it together and make a decision together.

Speaking of inquiring minds....I told DH that Kenda said there's new scrapbooking stores in the area. He said "EE Gods, what's she doin'? Staken' 'em out?" (yes, my hubby is from Arkansas. LOL)

OOOHH Deb I am tickled to hear that you are moving back to familair territory and DH has a job!! The Lord really does work in mysterious ways and we do not always look at BOTH sides of the coin!!

Anyhow I it with great enthusiasm because after meeting MC I HAVE to come to LR to do some shopping with her and Kenda and more so hopefully do some cropping together!!!

Congrats for DH and while doing it ALL AGAIN, be careful and stay safe.
