OT: My Flowers

We had such a mild winter and WET and warm spring, that most flowers just bloomed all out!!

I bought 24 "Lip stick" colored glad bulbs from Brecks last year. They were pretty but because of the weather they just literally multipllied. They are the talk of the neighborhood and I am just blown away by the beauty of them. My lilies were also pretty this year. Roses were ok, but all the storms and rain just beats the petals off them.

Anyhow the pictures are in my webshots " Me and mY home album."

Dave, Your flowers are beautiful. I'm watering mine now to keep them from dying. We're looking at a possibility of rain tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed. Where are the hollyhock? Sandy

Sandy you asked about the hollyhocks, well first like canna, I do not think they like the rain EVERYDAY!! They are shrt and don't look too good. Then I thought something looked like was eating them from the bottom. Firs thought was Twister but he can not get into garden side where noticed a pile of dirt. Well I have a gopher!!!

So I went in, pulled out all of the timbers I had down, was so happy trash man took them, and pulled at least 50 pounds of weeds, garlic and chives. Little devill had made a den under the rr tie I have as the border between yard and garden and has feasted on my hollyhocks, caster beans, which finally did him him.

So guess that I now need to go dig up a bunch of the scattered volunteers and plant them and wait two yars for them to bloom. Also hope that MAYBE it will quit raining here SOON!! We just recorded ACROSS the entire state the wettest (Most days of rain) in histry of the state. Some parts of state the most rain amount, on top of days!!

(hugs)

Your flowers are so pretty Dave. Glads are my absolute favorite flower! My niece and I planted 25/30 along the south side of the house maybe 10 yrs ago. Some have thinned themselves out but others are still going strong and really spreading. We had a late freeze & snow (late April) and that pretty much did the lillies in. There are a few flowers but nothing like yrs past.

Those are gorgeous Dave. I don't have any of those yet in my yard. I just love that yours are all different colors. Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to string them up. At least yours are up against a building so it is easier to string up. Thanks for sharing.
