HI.

We're home and I remember why we want to fly. My MIL can bitch and complain like no one else. It was a miserable trip.

The dance recital was enjoyable -- at 4 hours long but my SIL, BIL, MIL, & FIL were constantly snipping at eachother.

My SIL insisted that we are going about house hunting all the wrong way (funny we haven't seen her in 2 years and she is full of opinions), we should buy a house (they are $100-$500K in NC but $500K to $1Million in NYC) not a coop which is in our price range.

She screams and calls her girls (my DN) liars and ugly to the point the youngest has night terrors screaming out Mommy I'll be better. The girls ran to us for comfort. Francine (SIL) yelled at me for doing so and I ripped her apart -- Higby (my maiden name) style. I wasn't exactly a lady in doing so. I think MC would have been proud.

Larry & I are so laid back that this was especially hard on him. He was stunned into silence as he knew I was right. I'm just grateful we are home. I've got tons of photos and videos which will be uploaded in my webshots account under NC Recital (new folder).

The good news out of all of this is that Sarah is now taking dance lessons and is in her first recital on July 16. She is learning hip hop (which I'm sure is all Larry's doing.), ballet, traditional, and jazz. LOL

Talk to you soon, Kate

Good to have you back safe and sound and obviously not too traumatized,LOL! That's what comes from learning to stand up for yourself when you are right. Though the not being ladylike had me rolling my eyes, just a little, haha! I can be very lady like even when throwing combat boots and swearing like a sailor, it's all in how you cross your ankles. Just kidding! It is always tough for children when adults go at each other in front of them and worse when adults put the children down in front of other adults. I'm glad you let the little ones know that you loved them and that they are special.

At any rate, I hope you captured a variety of moments with your camera and I can't wait to see what you do with it all!

Hugs, M-C

As my sister taught me "it is how you hope their trip to hell is enjoyable and that they forget to send post cards."

Thanks for the giggle "how you cross your legs" .

The scenary was fine. I spent most of the car ride either sleeping or looking out the window.

The girls were fun and loving as usual.

Here's the pictures:

Sorry your trip was badly affected by the poor behaviour of others....but the pics and video of the recital are just precious. They brought a big smile to my face and some scenes are just what you would expect from that age group....cute and funny as they copy each other. LOL Priceless memories Kate...enjoy scrapping them and thanks for sharing :)

Take care, Marilyn

Kate, I'm glad you were able to get such cute pictures of the dance recital. Too bad the tripwas spoiled by such ugliness. At least the children know who loves them.

I'm sorry the trip was miserable, but hopefully the great pictures will compensate for it and give you some wonderful memories.
