OT: Off to school

The kids are off to High School. Yes, both of my children are in High School! I have this disposable camera I got to use at my Neighborhood ice cream party and I'm trying to use up the film, so I a can get it developed. It's so weird to use a camera other than digital now. I have no pictures to share yet. Speaking of the disposable camera... it's the kids first day of school and I haven't taken a "first day of school" picture in a few years. So, I made them pose. Last night I asked my son the Senior to help my daughter the Freshman find Senior Square where the schedules are passed out. AND to help her find her first class and to do this cheerfully. I thought he'd grumble, but instead he walked over to my daughter and held his arm over her and bent it in at the elbow. He says, "You see this... this is a wing... she is under my wing of protection." We all laughed and he said he had heard it in a movie clip and thought it was funny... and it was. SO this morning when I asked them to pose for a picture my son made the wing again and my daughter ducked under. I sure hope the picture turns out, because it will be so cute if it does.

Here too! Only mine are 2nd (DS) & 5th (DD). They were actually up and dressed before DH & I were! LOL Next year, DD will be in middle school since 6th is part of middle school here. I can't believe she's almost 10 years old, and worse yet...this is her last year in elementary school! She's growing up too fast.

Oh my both in High School. How exciting! The picture of the wing sounds so cute. What a great layout that would make!

What a cute story, I hope the picture comes out (fingers crossed). It's hard to believe my sister is going into the 8th grade, where has the time gone?!?! They sure do grow fast.

You have a good son there Lynne. The kids here don't go back until 9/3 and the high school on 9/4. My niece is starting high school and I hate the whole idea of it, I guess I wanted her to remain 10-12 years old forever.

It's always good to have a big brother (or sister) to look out for you when you get in High School. Mine are in 10th and 5th. School started here on Monday. I also have a DD (age 33) who has gone back to school in the nursing program. Sandy

That story is so cute Lynne! The picture will be perfect to go along with the story when you scrap it! My youngest DS goes back tomorrow. He starts middle school (7th grade) this year. He is growing up WAY too fast! Linda
