OT: searching for fabric tissue box cover patterns

Hello everyone. I have a request. I am searching for patterns for fabric tissue box covers because I want to make some to give as gifts to my classmates when we graduate from LPN school in June. I just purchased one from ebay (already made) because I was thinking I might be able to figure out how it was made once I have the finished product. The one I bought is for one of the small square tissue boxes not the long rectangle ones. And she has elastic sewn in about 4inches maybe from the top to keep it on the box and then the tissue comes out through the top. I know my description here sounds confusing, but I was wondering if any of you know what Im talking about and have any kind of patterns to help me out, could you please let me know? I will include my email address so you can email me directly or just post here...The seller also is making toilet paper roll covers with the elastic around the top, they are really cute too...I have been searching online for some patterns but not having much luck finding what I want...If anyone can help please email me or post here....

Thanks a bunch!!!!

Hi Gina,

I know exactly what you're talking about as I've made about 100 of them. I have a rectangle pattern I made from measuring the one that was given to me as a gift, but I have no directions written down. Are you a sewer?

Hi Gina,

Yes, if you sew they are very easy. When I was cranking them out a couple years ago for gifts it would take me 15 minutes each, but I'm an experienced sewer and I had made about 100 of them by then. You'll have no problem. I need to make a couple and have been putting it off. So, I'll go on the hunt for the pattern. Write down some directions for you.

I put pictures of my tissue boxes on my web site. These are my personal ones. I have about 4 floating around the house. Each kid of course wanted their own. Look under my "other paper crafts" album for photos of them.

Lynne, I was wondering if I could possibly get the pattern for these too! I have a friend in a nursing home with MS. She has very little room from decorations. So I was thinking I could make one of these for holidays and seasons for her and it would help spruce up her space! Thanks in advance Sharon

Lynne, Can you post it somewhere so we could download it? I would love to have the pattern also. I have a box of tissues in every room in the house/daycare. Sandy

Yes, I'll post the directions and measurements so everyone can make their own tissue box cover. I have to say I'm very visual and having one to refer back to was a big help. But then I had to make my own directions. When I saw these tissue box covers I thought they were cutest things. I gave a lot away as gifts and got some of the strangest responses. I was amazed at the amount of people who thought the cover was gift wrap and wondered why I'd given them a box of tissues for Christmas. GEEZE I'm not that cheap. hahaha I was selling them $7 a piece or 3 for $18. It's one of those things that everyone sees and absolutely loves them and says I should sell them, but when I'm selling them few want to buy them. Go figure. I love them. Especially this time of year when a tissue box is needed in every room. They look so much cuter than having the paper box sitting there. Plus when you're looking for a tissue they are easy to spot.

If you'd like and it isn't copyrighted I can put it on the RCS website, Lynne.
