OT: Too Much to Say!

First I have to say I am sorry I guess. You do not realize or understand how down an uncaring you can get when you are in pain and coping. I have just been so selfish for lack of a better word, that mail, email, nothing has excited me for past 6 weeks in my trying to cope with and deal with the reality of the physical trouble I have, no thanks to the do nothing medical service that previous genertaion Vets have to and have had to deal with. In the short term until we get a truly seeing and caring batch of congressmen back in our country's service will the situation be rectified and adequately funded. So until then I will try to deal with MY problems, accept them and live with the vicious pain - depression cycle.

Next of all, we in this group let alone even in our own 'offline' lives do not know the friends we have that can 'help' in times of need, i.e. cry on their shoulder when you need support of some sort. Thank you so much for the MANY in here for that. I personally can attest that after several years have acquired the trust and close friendship of several and do not still fully realize that friendship, adoration and trust. THANK YA'LL!

I have checked the group a couple times, but was not compelled due to other distractions to try and post, the last time being the first of the month. I am so sorry to miss welcoming new members, wishing the best to those having special days, being supportive of those who have needs and trials too, and just being amongst real, understanding and fun people!

As the fall and winter season is again upon us and our great group picks up in activity I will also try to pop in as well. In spite of dealing with my own personal discomforts I am working daily. After a LONG, DRY summer for work, we are busier than three bee hives!! I will post in another thread about trips!

So with that I will run for this post, as I am getting ready to go to work, as usaul for the weekend. I have not enjoyed that this year but it has been easy per se but just what I have had to put up with, and not all DT either!

Miss all ya'll LOTS!! Big (((((hugs!))))))

Glad to see you "pop in" & am sure sorry to hear the reason you've been away wasn't for something wonderful, which you deserve instead of your current challenges. May you soon find relief from the pain & discomfort & may your job either become one that brings joy again, or may a better opportunity present itself.

:::sending lots of hugs & healing thoughts your way:::

Dearest Dave,

Although our friendship is new and fresh, it doesn't mean you haven't been on Larry or My minds or thoughts. You are the sweetest and dearest person to me although several states (NYS to OK) separate us, we do worry.

My father also has issues with the non-functioning Veteran's Affairs Hospital system and I routinely help him with the letter/eMail campaign in order to get the health care he and you desperately need. I remember once I was in the Corning VA with my dad and a smart alect nurses' aide said to my father "what do you care you're not paying for it." I looked at the woman and said "spreaken deutsche?" She looked at me and said "what did you say to me?" I said exactly. I explained that if it wasn't for my father she would be "speaking german." So thank my father for your freedoms and ability (or lack thereof) to speak english.

I'm so sorry you are having health issues and don't have the wearwithall to even do crafts or play with the cats. I wish I could help you or send you strength but I can send L O V E through the internet and affection.

Please keep your head up (even if it is on the pillow) and don't do anything stupid -- or I think April/MC/Me/et al will kill you.

Love,

Kate (& Larry)

Aloha Dave, I have came across some of your posts but I don't think we have "officially" met. I am sorry to hear that you are having health problems. I agree with you completely in that our Vets need better health coverage, heck, our country needs better health coverage. I wish you well and I have you in my thoughts. Get better soon!

HI Dave! we sure do miss you on here. I am sorry to hear about your pain and troubles with the VA system. The VA system failed my father in law several times over the years before he died. He needed a hip operation and at the time was in good health. They told him that they had to put his surgery on hold because of the younger soldiers coming in that needed their attention first. Sad, but very true. He never got it done. I will say they took good care of him while he was sick the weeks before his death. I hope you can have better luck with them in the future. Pop back on in when you can and when you feel up to it. I wish I could give you a big 'ol hug in person. ((((hugs ))))) Take care! Linda

*BIG hugs* I'm so sorry you've had so much trouble, Dave. It was so good to talk to you yesterday, though! You sound a lot more upbeat, which is what I was hoping I would hear. :-) Just know you always have a special place with all of us here at RCS. I really do hope your doctor can help you with the pain, and very soon!
