It's actually set up more like the SLR. I got the 28-105 lens, so 105 would be the zoom. The guy at the store was saying that every Canon lens fits it, and there is some sort of Digital/Optical lens that gives 2x more zoom than the lens, but I was busy playing with the camera at the point and wasn't paying attention! lol. Like my neighbor said, it looks and sounds just like a film camera, only it stores digitally. I too was missing my SLR and loving the ease and convenience of digital, and so far, this seems to be the ticket!

Hey Dawn, I think your camera is well worth the $$$. My husband just saw the photos also and was very impressed with the last one ( flowers in foreground and house in back). REALLY beautiful!! Best of Luck with the newest edition. God Bless, Dorothy in NY
