SHIPPING INFO!!!!!

Hey something I just found out that is of great note for us in here, as we are always sending stuff here and there!

If ya'll have a DHL (lFEDEX and UPS competitor) nearby that you can go to, DO IT!!

WHY? they ship their packages, up to a reasonable size, by weight only!! That is GREAT as ya'll know UPS (heaven forbid they may lose some money) does so by weight and dimension. Anything short of a inch goes to the next inch. Anyhow DHL is very comparable to the USPS and have the same if not better delivery times than the others.

We are even starting to use them at work too. So I hope ya'll can use this GREAT INFO nad have the opportunity to check them out!! I know how much it costs to send a pizza box of paper via ALL of them and DHL is the same price as USPS, followed by FEDEX then UPS.

After all we all need some good advice an ways to save money!! The only drawback to hm is they do prefer to have the recipients phone number to get directions or instructions when or where to leave it.

Glad they have better shipping rates. I guess I don't ship very much so I don't know all the differences between them. But I have to tell you that I was supposed to get some football tickets to a Jaguar game from our advertising agency. They sent them to me using DHL on a Friday and the envelope was marked SAT/Next Day 10:30 for overnight delivery on Saturday. Our ad rep called them to make sure they would deliver it to our zip code and they said yes, sure! Well, short story long, they didn't come. I emailed our rep and forgot about so I called her on Tuesday and let her know they hadn't arrived so we didn't get to go to the game on Sunday. While I was on the phone with her the DHL guy arrives with the football tickets - Tuesday at 11:00 in the morning. They wouldn't give them any other compensation for their screw up and the Ad agency had just switched to DHL and they ship tons of stuff for several Subway markets and other clients as well. She said that DHL did have a little better rate but when it comes to our corporate materials, delivery and service is of the essence. So our agency didn't pay for the "overnight" service and they are no longer using DHL. For me, I guess it would depend on what I was shipping but knowing they made me miss a live football game, they'd probably be the last company I would use or they'd have to save me a LOTS of money:)) There's my sad story for you all:(

I've heard that DHL is nothing more than Airborn Express in new colors. If that's true it's a great marketing strategy.

That is true - DHL is taking the place of Airborne - I have received one other package from them and it came in an Airborne truck with a DHL package> I know DHL is more common internationally. My mom and stepdad always say DHL when referring to shipping - kinda like I say UPS, then FEDEX
