shopping, shopping!

My LSS has a 'one day April madness' sale today and they said that items started at 5c, so I had to go over and check it out... it was worth the trip. I bought twenty assorted little fabric page decorations (the 5c offerings) including a pile of daisies and some red satin hearts that will be just right for our wedding album, and a couple of cute little pink baby mice for cardmaking. I spent $6 on assorted patterned paper at 25c a sheet, including some lovely brown 'torn' pages with brads printed on them and some pinky baby paper that I'll probably cut up for cardmaking since I don't have a baby to scrap for! And I got some Mrs Grossman's animal stickers for 25c, and a couple of cute border design sheets for 50c. In all I spent $10 on goodies, and browsed happily around the store for two hours. My knee is killing me now, but it was worth it... I was going to get some silver lettering stickers but I had to leave them out because I realised that I still desperately need a papercarrier - the cats have been showing an undue level of interest in my scrapbook supplies, and while they'd be happy to 'distress' the corners of my paper for me I'd rather they didn't... so I bought a plain box to hold 100 sheets. I really want a proper crop box thingy, but it's got to wait a few months - John says that for my birthday I can have $100 for craft supplies and I'll buy it with that.

Anyone else have a problem with cats chewing on their goodies? I've stacked up my folders on the desk for want of a better storage place, and I've noticed that they're all getting decidedly toothmarked on the corners! ~Karen aka Kajikit Crafts, cats, and chocolate - the three essentials of life

LOL Karen! I've got three furbabies and the one in particular don't like me working on the PC. He insists on sitting on my lap or meows endlessly! I enjoyed your pics of your babies also "keeping you company" in front of the puter! It looked too familiar. When I do my LO's I also find that the moment I turn my back, they find it irresistable to roll around on my supplies!

Scout thinks that her place is close to me... which means lying on the computer desk behind my keyboard with her back paws/tail on the mousepad... at least she leaves me half the desk! When she takes up too much room I just slide her over...

When I'm actually crafting I can have a problem - one or both cats comes and SITS ON IT! Not to mention trying to steal any small pieces of paper I have handy (like punchys or gluedots or shiny brads/sequins)

I used to do cross-stitch but I've given it up for the time being because Silver is irresistably attracted to fibres - every time I try to put a ribbon onto a card, she tries to eat it!

I try to do my crafting when they're asleep... otherwise I just keep on evicting them from the desk and hope they don't walk on any wet glue/ink before it dries! ~Karen aka Kajikit Crafts, cats, and chocolate - the three essentials of life

Sounds like you had a fun day shopping Karen. I wish we had the opportunities you peeps in the US seem to get. Searching out supplies here is a nightmare...let alone finding sales and discount buys.....sigh!!!

Sounds like a good sale! My fur baby will chew on anything that is cardboard. Boxes, files, folders you name it.

Wow you got a lot of great stuff. I didn't even think to see what sales were going on around here. BTW my dog chews up my glitter glue if I don't put it away. Don't know what it is about it.

LOL Karen, I bought a used book this week just because it had litle cat teeth marks on the corners!! It made the book that much more dear. My DH said there were other copies of that book without teeth marks...I just said I know.
