Way to go Michaels!

Savannah Georgia's Michaels has relocated and reopened a couple weeks ago. I went in to look for an embellishment for my recipe pages and walked out in awe. I was expecting the same ole stuff you see in every Michaels store. This one has expanded to more K and Company stuff--they even have Basic Grey! There was one whole isle of containers and organizational stuff. The isles were large and easy to get through even with several people looking at various stuff. There was some organization to the merchandise as well--something the old ones have been lacking on for a while. The Making Memories line was still the same size, so was the Sizzix inventory. There seemed to be a whole lot more stamps and inks although I must confess I didn't look at those. All the paper, and albums, and album kits were wonderful! There were embellishments I had recently seen at the LSS of the places I visited this summer and they were there too. I think Michaels is finally getting the picture. My next stop on my list was PetSmart for fish food and dog treats. Would you believe there is a section there of scrapbooking stuff? I was floored--I guess I need to get out more. BTW Does anyone have any idea when the next slab is coming out? Jacqui

Congrats on the new Michael's! Sounds like a great one!! Your PetSmart find reminded me of another funny find -- Chuck E. Cheese!! I was very surprised to find a Chuck E. Cheese themed scrapbook pack for sale there! What scrapping mom wouldn't buy that after a fun day of pictures there?? These retailers are really wising up to the scrapbook market! Lori Shay

Wow. That's great for you. I don't think my Michael's has carried a single new item for about a year. I don't even bother going in there anymore.

DS's 2nd bday was at Chuck E Cheese. I just might have to swing by there sometime just to get their scrapbook pack. Good thing I haven't scraped those pics yet! LOL

It is amazing where you can find scrapbook items now. I went into the Dollar Tree the other day to kill time while my daughter was in her gymnastics class across the road and they had lots of paper packs, stickers, and stamps! I got a lot and only spent $9.45! That is the cheapest I have spent on scrapbooking supplies in a looooooong time.

I feel the same way about the Michael's in my area. I much prefer A.C. Moore.

One of the Michaels stores in my area was recently remodeled and it sounds a lot like your new store. I was amazed at all the new items they had. I enjoy shopping in that store now.

We must have been tripping over each other you know! I was in that Michaels.. I live about 5 miles MAYBE from that one in Savannah! lol.. I got my 50% coupons and made a couple of trips and then another couple with 40% coupons. Got some good deals as well! To think we probably shopped side by side and never realized it was each other.. lol
