Sizzix/Big Shot vs Quickutz

Hello everyone,

I have decided that it is time for me to invest in a die-cutting system at some point soon and I would be grateful if you could let me know your experiences.

I figure I would be using a die-cutting system mostly for alphabets and some simple shapes such as flowers, frames, photo corners/anchors etc. I am not really interested in all the fancy shapes, such as little people and their clothes, snowmen etc.

I think Big Shot is probably way to go but so far I prefer the Quickutz alphabets, especially because they also come in smaller sizes which are suitable for cards, subtitles or highlighting in journalling.

Does anyone know if Big Shot can take the Quickutz alphabets (or if there are relevant adaptor plates)?

Thank you, Klara

I think we had a poll or something like it regarding your question.

I have the Sizzix machine and hardly use it. I actually sold my alphabet as it took up too much room and wasted too much paper. With so many fonts on the 'net free, I found it was easier to print them out than die cut them.

I have the big shot and I don't really see myself using it much. For one thing it isn't big enough for the really interesting things like the envelope dies and pop-up dies and things like that.

Also, the dies are expensive and not all that useful in my opinion. I don't think though that it matters what you get as long as it can use the dies from Sizzix, etc.
