Software Question

Apr 03, 2009 5 Replies

A friend is looking for a simple, free software program that will allow her to superimpose text on top of a photo. It needs to result in a file of high enough resolution for printing. Not sure if she's on a Mac or a PC (I'm checking, but she's back east so is offline for the night). Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Here are a couple I use:

paint.net lunapic.com photobucket.com All free, they do have "pro" to buy but for all she needs they would be enough on the free side.

Irfanview is free, lets you pick font, color, size, location etc.

&

etc.http://www.irfanview.com/ Many thanks to both of you! I'll pass these on to her. I got more details from her. What she's trying to make is a poster (up to 24x36) at 300 dpi saved either as a PDF or JPG. Thanks again.

She is going to need alot of memory to do that!

Yeah, I had the same thought.
