NOT! Sounds to me like April can out shop me anytime! I have NEVER spent $1500 at one time on scrap supplies!...in a year maybe but never all at once!

Yes.....today....while looking for ribbon to match my DD homecoming dress so they can use it in her corsage I had to go to Joann's AND Michael's. At Joann's we bought a spool of ribbon and some "fun fur"....but only because the fun fur was EXACTLY the same color as her dress. DD went through one line with the ribbon and I went through another with the fun fur...each with a 40% off coupon in hand. No....we don't plan to use the fun fur in the corsage and I may not even use it on the s/b pages...in fact it MIGHT go back but carrying around a skein of fun fur was sure a heck of a lot easier than carrying her gown in all the stores! Then at Michael's we found two more spools of ribbon that MIGHT work for her corsage however, we did wander over to the scrapbook supplies where I picked up a couple of sheets of gold paper (homecoming tickets are gold this year...I needed a few sheets of gold paper to recreate the tickets for the albums), I got a pkg of "baby boy colors" cardstock...you know the $3.99/pkg stuff and I got a pkg of the textured paper from sizzix in the pearlized tones to cut confetti for some birthday pages. Now....once we finally decide on which ribbon will be used in her corsage....the rest will go back. Soooo, all in all.....I didn't do tooo bad today. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! S

It was an ebay auction for $1500 worth of supplies and such... I saw 2 COWS in there and didn't want anyone else to get the cows so I bought it now for $850 and got free shipping!

We are "into cows" here too because of the dance team DD is on. The HS mascot is the Bull....there are no lady bulls so they exchange "cows". Still...even at $850........that's quite a bit more damage than I would/could do at one hit.

The ribbon will go back??? Right, I belive you. Too bad cause I am so sure that it would look wonderful next to all the other ribbons and threads and wool. But if you must bring it back, then I guess there is no way around it, right?

No, there's no end to it at all. What's worse is that we're all just a bunch of enablers...err...supporters. LOL

Actually it all started because I wanted to save money. I would get the ads for the local craft stores and use the coupons and then of course I had to get stuff for what I had bought with the coupons. OH and I joined this group which introduced me to even more stuff I didn't see in the craft stores. I got better at my hobby and wanted to try new techniques. The madness is now nonending. Jacqui

Okay, I don't know if this qualify, but it just proves, once you get scrapping you look at the world with different eyes. We went to the hardware store yesterday to buy a glue gun and some electrical wiring. While there I noticed that the Toolboxes was on sale. I just had a peak and when my hubby noticed me looking HE suggested that it would be ideal for all MY new tools I bought! LOL. Well there was no reason to be invited twice and all my goodies are now neatly stored away. The divider tray works wonderfully for all the little embelishments and the bigger tools go underneath. Also everything can now be easily moved around :))

All in all it was a great idea!

Yep....the ribbon we don't use will go back. I'm refusing to stockpile more ribbon! S

Yep....it will go back. I only use a minimal amount of rubbon in my scrapping so this would just end up sitting here ....fotever! Look at it this way...if I take the ribbon back, I'll have more money to spend on something I really need/want. Ah hah! I can apply that little bit to those sizzlets I want! :o) S

I found out the other day that if I use the one hour machine at Walmart it's cheaper than using the machine that just prints your pictures out from your disc so I used it and asked the kid to page me overhead when it was ready, they said it wouldn't even be an hour..... .....they forgot, and I spent the whole time in the craft section. I saved about $2 using that machine and spent $27.50 on supplies. Hmm. That really just hit me, lol!

and that's the first step in conquering the scrapbooking addiction....

so what are you thinking?!?!?! You don't want to be cured, do you, because that would be a crisis. :-)

Absolutely not! I enjoy shopping for this stuff too much to give it up! AND I have far too many pictures to quit any time soon. S

Too funny Janet! But what a great use of the waiting time!

My husband would divorce me! I spend between 40 and 60 every other week on supplies and he keeps asking why I can't just use the stuff I already have first. I try to keep the costs down because I have an obsession with coins and Department 56 as well.

I also started with Creative Memories. I was invited to a "class" (not sure what they call it). I was kinda put off by the whole "pay $10 to come and buy stuff" idea, but went because a friend invited me. I took some pictures and we all made a page. Okay...now WHAT do I do with that page? I almost fainted when I saw the price of their albums (please note: I'm NOT slamming CM...just telling my experience!). I had never priced scrapbooking supplies and had no idea what they cost, but was hoping I could get something less expensive that was the quality I was looking for. The lady had an 8 1/2 x

11 album on clearance because they weren't going to have that color anymore so I bought it. When I got home and told my husband that I had one page and nowhere to put it, but had bought an album in a different size with nothing to put in it...well, let's just say he wasn't impressed. LOL

Back then a 40% off coupon at Michael's was rare and the only Michael's was on the other side of Omaha (I live south of Omaha in Bellevue). EVERY TIME I would go all that way with my coupon, they would be sold out of the 12x12 albums. I finally started looking on ebay and bought a "buy it now" assortment of stuff, including a 12x12 album. It arrived and I found that the album was post-bound! I had NO idea there were different kinds. So, I had 2 albums and still nowhere to put my ONE page that I had made, plus I had a bunch of yucky paper and tacky stickers and a glue stick that didn't say if it was photo safe (all from the ebay assortment).

My next stop was Current. I got a Current catalog and it had some scrapbooking stuff so I ordered a few assortment packages. Some of the stuff was okay, but I didn't like most of it. It wasn't my style, but I had no idea what my style was because I was still wandering around aimlessly.

Then...I found this newsgroup! I had made ONE page at this point (4 years ago, I think???). I saw a post about websites with scrapbooking supplies. One was "scrappinsafari" (not sure on spelling). HORRIBLE customer service!!!! At this point I'm just about ready to pitch everything and forget about it. I liked stamping better anyway. Then I went back to Michael's (just shopping) and found the scrapbooking aisle had moved to the first thing you saw when you walked in the door (still just ONE aisle back then). I saw diecuts for the first time. I thought, "I could use those on my cards" so I bought a few packages. Fortunately (or unfortunately as my checkbook would say), there were a few frame diecuts. I figured they HAD to go on a scrapbook page so I went to another website (TwoPeasInABucket) and fell in LOVE! They had BEAUTIFUL paper and eyelets and tools and...shall I go on? LOL I placed a HUGE order. About this time I also found CreativeXpress.com and placed another HUGE order.

I started looking at the website for this group and saw the beautiful layouts...all made with stuff I had NO idea where it came from because I hadn't seen anything like that so far. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and start posting so I could participate in the NSSSS (before we had guys here). I got stuff that I had never seen and didn't even know how to use! LOL Still, I knew with y'all I could figure it out. We had a couple LSS's open in the area (and a couple close), but I finally get it! Also, had bought SEVERAL albums from Creative Memories since I decided I like those better and they ARE worth the price difference (no, I don't sell CM!).

So, after this too long post...I blame Y'ALL for being a FLASS!!!! AND, I realize that I do NOT scrapbook unless I'm at a crop so I go to them regularly. I'm currently signed up for Croptoberfrest this month and am setting a goal of 15 pages (using that power layout thingy).

Sorry I rambled!
