this is cute had to share but has a story behind it for me

In the hospital, the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their

family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired > and somber. "I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," the doctor > said as he surveyed the worried faces. "The only hope left for your > loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental > procedure, very risky but it is the only hope." "Insurance will cover the > procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves." > > The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great > length of time, someone asked, "Well, how much does a brain cost?" The > doctor quickly responded, "$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female > brain." > > The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye > contact with the women, but some actually smirked. A man, unable to control > his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, "Why is the > male brain so much more?" > > The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire > group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the > price of the female brains, because they've actually been used." > > SEND THIS TO A SMART WOMAN WHO NEEDS A LAUGH AND TO THE MEN YOU THINK CAN

my sister in law sent this to me a little history to go with this story. she has ms then a few months ago discovered a breast lump had a mamo on a tues and by thurs was in surgery having a double mastectomy, has had chemo and radiation, while we were in va she came to visit (she lives in nc) and had a fall in the driveway ended up in er got 8 stitches above her eye and her eye is still black after almost 3 weeks, anyway while in the er because she hit her head and is on a blood thinner a ct scan was done and a new lesion was found on her brain, she's now had an mri and is scheduled for brain surg on tues. and she can still laugh about things like this, she's one amazing person..... sorry this is long thanks for allowing me to share

One of my very best buddies down in houston, his wife last Dec just before Christmas, had a mam-gram which showed a lump. In early Jan she went to have a biopsy and they found she had a very aggressive form. They took her the next day and did a double. They were so devastated. Since then she has copleted chemo and only because of the truly wonderful church they are in and their faith, she is doing well and her prognosis is good. So prayer works wonders and I can attest to that too!

I like that little story. :-)

I'll keep your sister in my thoughts. That's a lot for one person to have to endure. She sounds like a very strong woman with a great sense of humor.
