To the SB Addicted: When did you realize this was an addiction?

I'm with you gals. I do the building and fixing, less now since I need a full knee replacement, but I've built decks and stairs and ramps and put up wainscoating and redone ceilings, but in flooring and been the project manager on a couple of big builds, including the construction of the Olympic Village in Montreal. So I can read a blue print, know what needs to be done first! Like you it really irritates me when I get treated like the little lady!Arhhhh!

I KNEW there was more about you I liked! I remember my hubby freaking out when he came home and I had a bunch of tools (his power tools) all over the place... I had built in the shelves in my scrap room and put up my countertop... heck I've built my own shelves from pieces of plywood, framed in an addition by MYSELF (real fun walking up walls by yourself), laid flooring (all kinds) did emergency plumbing, put on my own exhaust system on my car, replaced my own alternator.... and men say WE are the weaker sex... yeah right....

Hi my name is Barb and I don't want help for my "problem" in fact I LOVE my problem! I have been scrapping since 1999 when my eldest daughter was born. I went from a tote bag to a plastic tote box to a cupboard, to a closet, to a small room, to a full sized spare bedroom-turned into a scrapbook/computer room. I thought something strange was happening when I bought my daughter clothes to match paper and stickers I had for a layout! I find myself going places and taking pictures to go with a piece of paper- but that's not really a problem is it? I Lova what I do and I'm glad I'm addicted!(I'm also glad I'm not alone in this very addictive hobby!) Barb:o)

Hi, I'm Judy and I knew I was in trouble when I started making mental LO's befor going to sleep at night! I love tools, they have a mysterious, magical quality to them, that I just have to conquer! My toolbox is bigger than my DH"s now and the other day after perusing Linda's fantastic new scrapbook room - *envious look* , I asked DH to see if we could convert our roofspace to a loft for a scraproom! Sadly the roof is to low, HOWEVER I will not give up! Never! I will have my very own special space solely dedicated to my sweet addiction - SCRAPPING!

Yes, MY NAME IS Dave!!! I am FLOOZY for paper but this group of enablers are VERY QUICKLY converting me to a FLASS and MESA!! I am beginning to love fibers (though gotta learn how to use them) i am really getting into eylets and THANKS to Jane, brads too. I have a bunch, err STASH of micro beads (they are so purty!) and a ton of stickers that I thought I may use, and may still one day (though they are paper!)

It was about two years ago when my neice Mariann moved back here from PA. she put together a album for my brother of a bunch of original receipts and stuff from his parents that had passed within last couple years. He had sent me the stuff from prison and I knew it needed to be preserved. Mariann had been a CM for about 5 years and just watching her put together those pages so fast, I was enthralled. She knew I had a TON and half of things myself and said I needed to startgetting it out of those magnetic albums..

She took me shopping for some basics (HA!) and I started to find MORE and BETTER stuff! I absolutely fell into love with paper. She told me I did not need all that I was buying but i KNEW I did!! I did a search on line and that was it, so I thought. THEN I FOUND THIS GROUP> I was (and am!) forever doomed. Anyhow when I first got started I had just gotten approved for a new CC with a $2g limit. DO YA'LL know how fast that amount can be spent? I DO!!!!

So i am a poor, forsaken, addicted scrapper! Though I have to admit, it really is good therapy!

nada for 05 (unless redoing and adding to some pages counts!)

I've been scrapping since July 2000. I wasn't addicted though until I found rcs in March 2001. It was here that I discovered just how big the world of scrapbooking really is. I got my mom into it. My neighbor too. Then she got her daughter going. Now her two young girls scrap too. See how it spreads! I'm hoping to get my niece going once she has the baby, which will be any day now. She's always looked at my albums w/ a gleam in her eye and I know she has a crafty side. Maybe the baby calendar I made for her will do it. 8-}

Thanks for sharing Kate, but my search came up empty. I wish they had a state search rather than zip code. Makes it easier for those traveling.

Hi, my name is Amy and I'm addicted to scrapbooking.

I realized I was addicted last July when I came across a newsgroup called rec.crafts.scrapbooks and thought I found heaven.

I again realized it when by boss gave me a friendly chat after my name popped up in a general sweep at work reflecting I'd posted 30 times in a single month. Since that time, I've kept my head low, but I've been quietly waiting for January 2005 when I'd hit my 6 month mark and I'd be allow to join in these wonderful things called swaps!

I know I'm addicted because for every birthday and every Christmas as I ask for gift cards to Michael's or LSS. When I open and see that little card with $20 or $30, you'd think I'd just won the mega-million lottery.

Yup! I'm addicted. If you have the cure...please stay away. I'm very happy with my affliction. :-)
